So glad to see someone has made a video praising this movie, it feels so overshadowed and misunderstood by people compared to other movies

Nine years old and somehow keeps up with current day content, this is impressively good. Also yeah uhh, I hate how much I love that anime.

Great video! Peace is maintained through force at every level. To notice and question this isn't a big brained take and it's naive to believe otherwise.

Peace is a lie. When has there ever been peace in our world? Peace is only the time we take to rest and recuperate between wars. Peace is the excuse of the weak and the cowardly. War is the mother of all things and the father of all Men. It is through war that old kingdoms are destroyed and new kingdoms are born. It is through war that some Men become kings, some achieve freedom and some embrace slavery.

The problem is a 20 years old was a teenager yesterday (19). 20 year olds are still not really adults. No teenagers anymore, yes but also not adults. They are still people in their youth age like in their teens but slowly becoming an adult in the next years. So adults starts more in mid/late 20s I’d say. It depends to every country.

A true, unimperialist peace means everyone is free to murder their own people - as we are all shortly about to be reminded. This is because, incoherently, we believe that imperialism is an evil done by one state to another but not by a ruler to their subjects.

after watching the final season it gave a panic attack, and still gives me anxiety attacks if I think about this amazing anime. Idk why, i have felt empty for days after watching amazing shows like this, but it never gave an anxiety attack. I know its very weird, but the only thing im certain is that hibike euphonium affected me so deeply that it shook me to the core and I dont know why. does any one else have a similar experience?

I hate that it took me this long to ever learn about this movie. Cold War thrillers are amazing because you get to see reality mixed with deniability and everyone pretending they don't know anything. Then you can mix in useful idiots and the deep state and you get some serious entertainment. Side note - Peace is Peace. If you get it by maintaining a strong military, or pretending you are neutral, you still have peace. Someone will always come along and try to take it away and that threat can be internal or external. So enjoy it while it lasts.

The original English dub is SO good. That it was lost to some lazy publishing deal and re-recorded in a hurry is such a shame. The acoustic detail and original translation is gorgeous. One of my favourite soundtracks of all time too - so MSG

I have seen the film two or three times now, but the political background was missing, so I was always a bit lost about what was actually happening. I had understood that there was some form of escalation happening and that especially the room filled with officials is either unable or unwilling to stop whats happening from doing so, but I had this nagging feeling that I missed something. Now I know, thanks for that.

Patlabor 2 will always remind me of Colombia. Most people outside my country will ever understand the feeling of seeing horrific news of battlegrounds raging just a few kilometres away from you, yet people act as if nothing is happening. This is even more clear in large cities like Bogotá or Medellín, in which the idea of the Colombian armed conflict is way too different to the reality of day to day city folk. These two realities are even clear when the 2014 referendum for the peace deal happened. Most people in the rural areas viewed the deal way too soft on the FARC (Guerilla group) rebels, meanwhile the large populations centre voted yes to the deal, since most of them hadn't really lived through the cruelty of the conflict. Yet, even now, a decade after the peace was signed there are still whole regions in Colombia where war never left, and the people from the cities never really noticed.

I know I'm incredibly late to the party, but something interesting I found out about Hanekawa's arcs is that their opening songs play a lot with harmony in a way that suits Hanekawa's character. I'm no music theory expert, but I'll try and explain. Perfect Slumbers and Sugar Sweet Nightmare, both arcs focused on Black Hanekawa, play with major and minor keys. In Perfect Slumbers, the chorus does a key change from E minor in the verses to E major in the chorus, a brightening effect. Meanwhile, in Sugar Sweet Nightmare, the song's hook makes use of what's called a Picardy third where a musical idea in a minor key is ended with a major version of its tonic chord, or home chord, once again giving it an unexpected bright resolution. I feel like these two musical ideas in their respective openings were meant to reflect the duality between Hanekawa and the darkness she harbors within her. Chocolate Insomnia is in my opinion the most interesting and profound example of Hanekawa's openings playing with harmony. The song changes keys multiple times throughout the song, which I feel reflects on Hanekawa's inability to find a home, or a place she belongs. And so she shifts from place to place, just as the song shifts from key to key, never quite being able to find somewhere she can truly settle down in. In addition, in the full version of the song, the choruses never resolve back to the tonic chord until it does at the end of the final chorus. The tonic chord is often described as feeling "like home" because it is the chord within a key that feels at rest and I think I don't need to explain how that fact is relevant.

I'm about 4 minutes in and... Dude Quit walking on eggshells. Just say you're shill for contemporary ethics. Imagine how your video would sound today if you were talking about gays when they were treated worse than the P-words. Pseudomoralistic garbage is what this video is. This problem won't be a problem in 10-20 years when we finally give up this last oppression. You're part of the problem for now though.

I am a grown man who only once before shed a tear for an anime, for Vash the Stampede when his backstory was finally told. A decade and a half later, my geeky wife scrolled through Netflix for something to watch... We didn't sleep that night, we binged the whole thing, Violet Evergarden. We were in each other's arms, sobbing like punished children. We vowed there and then, no matter how hectic our lives will become, we will say to each other "I love you" before we go to sleep at night, or before we leave each other for work or errands.

I say it's a great anime because it's one of the best sequential plot twisted ANYTHINGS, I've ever seen. I would consider Madoka a deconstruction due to the elements it brings up about magical girls, and the twists that come along with it.

How I communicate is to berate the people in charge of monitoring me and typing comments and making documents knowing full well that they are able to see it. It has been a great form of communication I say because I have been manipulating the program that I am that does clinical trials and human behavioral experiments on me. The main governments that placed me to be the subject of this program is the CNMI, Guam, and US Federal government. Happy Birthday🎉🎉🎉 It was fun using their systems against them throughout the years. One day I won't be able to enjoy this fun hobby of mine, but I should be doing greater and better things by then and having a fun, great, and healthy life because God knows what will happen if I am ever unhappy. Again, say it with me HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Well the program that I was in tried to teach me these values but destroyed these values because they made my every single person in my life lie to me and conducted numerous human behavior experiments on me. The main governments involved were the CNMI, Guam, and US federal government.

none might read this and i will probably forget about this comment but it's just a matter of expressing one's opinion no matter if none will listen; evangelion is complex evangelion is so complex that even though i tried so many times to understand and making sense of the events that are happening on screen , understanding characters deep emotions ,state of mind ,desires ,motives ,or goals ; i just couldn't get behind what is happening . For example in the last scene where Shinji is chocking Asuka well it's difficult for me to look for the real point here and instead start worrying about the fate of these two. Is it my fault ? I take it personal and answer yes. But even though i still have a ton of problems with it. The most annoying one after the complexity being the inappropriate content . It's hard to recommend eva(for short) to somebody and expect them to look beyond that . Let's be real in 2024 you want the average viewer to look beyond what's on the screen and look for the meaning behind it? If it was just a scene or a part well it was possible and doable but not here. But it's not the end: Some of the content might help the plot and are kinda necessary ; quick side note here: yeah ! they are kinda needed but they could be done in a less questionable way as well. About the fanservice of eva In a piece of art that tries to stop and maybe(this part is more personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt) the trends that your everyday anime has and stop the escapism eva is a bit too sexual and contains too much fanservice that didn't had to please the viewer as such. So yeah : I'm dumb and i hated eva before and as time passes and i try to find simple content explaining eva , i'm liking it more and more everyday it still make me uncomfortable because of the flaws it has People should discover eva and search for the answers themselves but what if i'm too dumb to even understand the show and just get burnt out and stop thinking. sometimes viewer can't understand the show no matter how much they put effort and time into it. Yeah It's a flaw. I like evangelion. Sorry for bad English.
