It really is a beautiful country and I feel, privileged to have so much of this scenery within close proximity. When it’s sunny it truly makes such a difference! From somebody who’s seen first-hand (literally lol), pleaseeee always wear gloves as it just isn’t worth it ❤️

Hi Chris.I have just finished watching your South Island Tour Videos and enjoyed them greatly,especially as I have recently done that trip (well almost) in March 2022.I live in Christchurch and two friends and I rode to Picton and then down the West Coast and over the Haast Pass to Wanaka and through the Central Otago area.You make me wish I had filmed it.Great video and very well edited.Loved the music too.Regards and happy travels.

I bought a new necked BB from Hambini as I needed room for wiring, etc. But I inserted it today, made me nervous cause of the creaks and pop sounds going in, but it's in and frame hasn't split.

Bought this BB from Hambini as well last month for my Cervelo S3, but I forgot to order his removal tool kit at the same time😂. He did send me the 2 round plastic kit but not the nuts and the long metal spindle(not sure what its call) Now I'm stuck and can't change it without the removal tool kit. It seems easy to DIY but since I don't have that tool, I'm debating bringing it to my LBS to install it or order one for myself from Hambini🤔. Nonetheless, this video you upload is sure satisfying along with the background wallpaper and music😁
@chrisleecalpoly3 жыл бұрын
All you need are the plastic press parts while the long bolt and nuts can probably be found at your local hardware store. Good luck

I just bought one for BB86, for oltre xr4. How do you know which side is on the drive side and which way do you push it in first, drive or non drive side?
@chrisleecalpoly4 жыл бұрын
You push it in on the drive side. The BB’s wider end stops flush with the frame when you’ve pushed it as far as it can go

Hey Chris I was thinking about going south in the holidays on my R3 any good tracks or roads to go fast around hills near Nelson ??
@chrisleecalpoly4 жыл бұрын
I have not ridden the upper half of South Island, unfortunately. However, if you do venture further south, there is this relatively quiet stretch of road between Duntroon and Oamaru (via Ngapara) that is quite smooth flowing and fun. There is a landmark called the Elephant Rocks nearby that could be a unique photo-op. Other than that, most of the main roads are very scenic and relaxing, especially the Southern Scenic Route, and the Devil's Staircase heading northbound into Queenstown. Thanks for supporting my channel!

Hi Chris, luckily, accidentally I came across your channel today ... congratulations and thank you for your awesome vids and content 😃👍 By the way we got something in common, I did my 6k km self guided NZ trip in Januar 2020 started from North to South Island and back, but on a Moto Guzzi V85TT and now I am in the market for a BMW UGS, intend to change to “Wilbers” suspension and “Wunderlich” accessories, project winter 20/21 . Cheers from Germany 😃✌️
@chrisleecalpoly4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your support! I too intend to upgrade both suspensions on my UGS. Also, I'm definitely planning another trip to NZ. Hopefully both islands next time like you did. I plan to post more riding videos of California soon. The fires and poor air quality really restricted this year's riding season. Take care and ride safe.

Also I thought that hambini pushes his bb in first and when seated pushes the bearings in. I assume that with the bearings already in the housing that there’s less flex on the way in which may be a problem if there are tight tolerances. Yours seemed to push in ok though.
@chrisleecalpoly4 жыл бұрын
His BB comes with bearings already installed

I followed Hambini’s tutorial which also has bearings pre-installed before pressing in the bottom bracket. Check this out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqmxY4trbruKd5I

great video Chris - I too have a specialized bike - threaded, but its a pity that expensive bikes even need a Hambini BB but at least there is some quality aftermarket products to make our bikes perform the way that they should. My other beef is creaking head stem bearings - I hope Hambini gets around to improving this area as well.
