Thanks for the post! Stunning country and riding. Didn't know riding like this existed in this area. Adventure touring with English speaking people, no dirt roads and water crossings. Perfect for us older riders. With the movie Outlaw Kings, I'm assuming there will be more visitors. Its so clean there! No billboards, rubbish on road. This area, Isle of Man and watching the Ulster Grand Prix is a bucket list dream

What a lovely ride - my stress noticeably went down when you put gloves back on - funny our reactions to things... Nice music choices, even the HP theme surprised then I saw the train and it fit right in... Somewhat similar natural beauty across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Utah - places I explored on my R1200GS this last summer... But I would Love to explore Scotland someday... Thanks for the inspiring video!

I wished I brought a pair of summer gloves! I was not prepared for Scotland to be that warm ~ about 30 Celsius. The hand guards prevented the wind from cooling down my hands and I was overheating in my waterproof, Scottish-rain-worthy, gloves!

Nice video, Ive done most of these roads on my 1200 GSA the last two years running. I will be going again this year and hope to take in more of the isles this time. Pity you didn't show the Glenelg ferry as I have done it in a car but not on the bike yet and I was wondering how tricky it was for two wheels?
@chrisleecalpoly5 жыл бұрын
I should have recorded the Glenelg ferry ride. Didn't want to risk losing my camera to the ocean! There were no issues getting the bike on the ferry; parked in gear with side stand down, and standing by the bike during the trip to prevent it from tipping over in the case of rough seas; no issues for me that day with the calm weather

Hi Chris, I’m just in the process of arranging a trip to NZ what made you decide to travel alone,rather than in a group. I too have a triple black and absolutely love it, haven’t had it out this year yet, but now that the weather is improving, I hope to soon. Ride safe
@chrisleecalpoly6 жыл бұрын
When are you planning to ride New Zealand? Riding solo creates more options to explore the beaten path, or check-out lesser known attractions recommended by the locals, without worrying too much about what the group wants to do. Easier done in places with good roads and riding conditions, and no language barriers. Check out my video series from my NZ tour from last November. If its your first time visiting New Zealand, I highly recommend these three "runs": Glenorchy-Queenstown Road, the Devil's Staircase, and Milford Road.

Very nice vid. I come from Edinburgh but live in Spain these days. Do lots of touring here now currently on a V Strom.I often ride without gloves too due to the heat,even though it's not advisable to. But sometimes you need a bit of a breeze up your sleeves! Is your camera mounted on your chin guard? Good angle of view and very apt music!

Yes, it was unusually warm that afternoon and I started to sweat under all that waterproof gear. I adopted Motonosity's chin mount setup for my Shoei Qwest. It works great. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5m2kKCNacqZfpI

You're going too fast, not only do you not give yourself enough time for certain parts of the road to stop should there be oncoming vehicles on single laned roads you've given no leeway to first the dog and then the workers in the road. Sorry but as nice as it is to go fast you need to think more about your pace at times when there are hazards. This is precisely why people get seriously hurt.

Why, of why do these biker videos of Scotland ALWAYS have bagpipes blaring out "Scotland the Brave". It is the most unoriginal background music you can possibly have and it drives me - a Scot - up the bloody wall!!! Please try and think of something more original next time. It doesn't even have to be bagpipes...
