Just a friendly suggestion: 1. If your a Mobile HEM, then you should invest in a HYDRAULIC IMPACT DRIVER. Stanley/Proto or HTC. ( these tools make removing gland nuts a simple, quick, safe, and injury free method.) Jumping on a pipe with hydraulic fluid residue is an invitation to the emergency room! 2. If you think that investment is too expensive, then how much money will you save when your unable to work because you severely injured yourself, broken limbs... or you get a hernia or worse, you kill yoursel trying to use your body as leverage. 3. Our physical strength is no equal to any Hydraulic Tools.

Hi, I've tried to update the software on Genie S-85 XC year 2018 (Bootloader 1302967-1.7.1 and Firmware 1302966-1.9.5) via USB. The Bootloader successfully installed and during updating of Firmware DISCON, PCON main, PCON secondary and TCON secondary successfully update 100% but TCON main not updating and showing message "Sub-ECU not responding try to recovery. I've checked wiring and CAN resistance on J5 and J10 connectors, all good. The Genie have ALC-600 controllers. Can you please help me. Thanks in advance.

Hello I have a 329D as well and after a rain storm the left joystick lost some of its functionality. Not completely dead like the one you are working on. Forward and back work fine. Left and right will work if you mike a very very small turns. I did the joystick test and when testing left or right axis the readings work and go up to maybe 25 or 30 but if you go any further the signal drops off and then the code is thrown. Left speed sensor or right speed sensor errors. My question for you is: Did the mechanicals in the joystick seem serviceable? I'm just wondering if I take it apart I might find a little water or rust in the mechanical side of the joystick. Anyway, thanks for the video it was really helpful and I'm about to have a heart attack if I have to buy a new joystick lol Thanks again! Wayne

I have a 6036 and its leaking 😂 where the 2 hoses exits the boom side to the hard set of lines mounted to under the boom. Do you know if those hoses can be changed from rear of boom or if the boom has to come apart. In trying to understand i think they go to the tilt cylinder but the lines seem so tight in the boom. Any advice? Great videos thx

Your video is so informative and easy to follow. My very first lift account I just bought an 1889 12,000 sq ft bldg in need of repair. My friend just retired from his construction biz and sold me his beast Genie S60. He would come over and show me things. Next trip was what’s behind the box. He passed away suddenly and now the lift does exactly the same thing: crank no start. So thank you much for explaining things the way he did: layman’s terms. Getting the close up views was a bonus as well.

You sound really unsure of yourself, so that’s probably why they didn’t let you do the transmission. Gotta know what you’re talking about then your customers have faith in you.

Unsure of myself? I am not sure what you're talking about. I went straight to the problem and diagnosed it, and informed the customer. If I didn't know what I was talking about, I wouldn't still be in business and in high demand. You're pretty sure of yourself sitting behind a keyboard and trolling, but I am sure you're not good at anything else.

My hydraulic system has been flushed several gallons of hydraulic oil from bad hydraulic lines and lots of filter and fluid replacement. I had filters as tough to get off as those fuel filters too

The biggest expense of this job was the travel time. It was a six hour round trip for me. The labor itself if everything cooperates is around 2-3 hours labor and the price of a seal kit. So depending on the shop's labor rates.

So like you I really like to look into a schematic and see how things work, but say the the machine is throwing tilt sensor codes or perhaps I familiar with a certain machine did my function tests and think the tilt sensor might be having a issue. I may look at the sensor and connector to see if anything looks off/not oem. Did this last week and noticed the seal on the tilt sensor was a bit pulled out, a pin was intermittently making connection due to being low. In this video example think you did the best thing, have wasted alot of time pulling on shit due to having no wiring diagram.

Sometimes visual inspections can find a lot of problems. And it definitely isn't always possible to have a wiring diagram.

Hi Paul. I have a leaking rotary and the local dealer tells me that I shouldn’t reseal it I should replace it. The cost is $3200 for a new one. Is it really that difficult to replace the seals? Do you have any recommendations where to buy used parts for a Genie? I appreciate you taking time to making the videos, very informative.
@paulsequipmentrepair823 Жыл бұрын
I definitely would replace the seals if possible, it will save you a lot of money. Most dealerships will say the same thing because they are just part swappers and want to sell you expensive parts. The local dealership here doesn't rebuild or reseal parts, they don't have anyone capable of doing it. They hire and train people just to swap parts. I try to avoid the throw away society unless I can't find seals or customer requests a new one. They are a pain to reseal, especially putting them back together. But if you take your time and have some mechanical skills you can do it. I don't know about used parts but I get my seal kits from Hercules. Sometimes GC Iron. Let me know if you have any questions.

Using wire piercing probes can leave a place for corrosion to begin on the exposed copper. What do you do about the hole in the insulation after you're done testing each wire?

I never have the luxury of having wiring diagrams at my disposal so I'd be that guy going around checking grounds, power, fuses and relays. 99 percent of the time I can find the issue that way.
@paulsequipmentrepair823 Жыл бұрын
Luxury? Genie wiring diagrams are free to download or view. I don't always have the diagram for the machine I am working on, but I darn sure use them when available. I'd be a rookie if I didn't. A lot of the time I know which fuses, relays and wires I am after before I even get to the customers machine.

I'm surprised the owner didn't change the fluid and filter on his own before calling out a very expensive road mechanic. It looks like there was massive water intrusion into the case. Other than a missing dipstick or something; how would it get in there?
@paulsequipmentrepair823 Жыл бұрын
He called me because a lot of owners and operators don't know how to maintain their equipment. I try to show my customers, buy some would rather have me do it.
