I have two thinner wedged that go in easier for starters followed by a wedge like yours. I don't split firewood though, I use wedges to follow a particular line in the piece of wood. I use a 4 lb. hammer. I can split chunks of wood that are two feet across with my setup.

The more you move the end of the pipe back towards the inlet of that pipe, the higher rpms and chainspeed you can get. Of course, there is a fine line of too much and not enough. I've found 3/4"-1" distance between the end of the pipe and the edge of the outlet is about perfect for my saws.

@@nickgazaway7707 ok great! As you probably know, the longer poles cast further, I have a tendency to stay away from the really cheep gear, it works, and that’s with I learned on, but we use middle of the road equipment, so if a reel or rod gets smashed into the rocks, damaged, it’s not the end of the world. For backpacking or mountain fishing, we like the a 4 piece pole. There are So many options available now days, but I like Redington rods they offer a great warranty on poles and normally will take care of their customers. At least years prior they did for me! @tfloutdoors327
@tfloutdoors327 3 ай бұрын
@WildWestGarage not exactly or I would have gave it a mention, the inspiration for this mini pipe came from the old nitro RC planes, and car world, back in the day. Had one for years, and messed with it a lot, modding everything that was modifiable w/o messing with the motor itself. I remember buying a pipe for it that looks similar to the one featured in this video, an Aftermarket pipe, but made from aluminum, it gave that little nitro motor quite a bit more power, and a quicker throttle response. Had to try to replicate it on a larger scale. It’s not as easy as it looks. A ton of thought and planning goes into them as you know.

Thank you. No blue prints, just a lot of thought. So I based the sheath off of the actual axe head, tracing it to paper, cut out the pattern and make all the final adjustments in paper form, prior to transferring to the leather hide.

Very nice! They are very solid saws, have your ear plugs handy, it’s a noisy old cus. I wouldn’t recommend this bar, it doesn’t have a sprocket tip, but it works ok. I would hate to use it for any long term cutting. Plus I feel like the 30” length full house chain is too much for the ol girl. It can pull it just can’t dog it in practically at all. If you go through some of my earlier videos it’s featured cutting some 24” pine. Have fun with your new saw!
