Question. I have custom orthotics and have replaced the top cover with a replacement off amazon.However the part where the plastic ends at the ball of the foot is a steep 3 or 4 mm drop off. what material can i use to taper the transition and glue the bottom part of the new top cover?

your example with the high arch, when you did you foot it was slapping. Do you have the symptoms your saying? Only Asking Cause I work for an orthotics company, We don't do full braces up the leg. just like insoles only. But basically try to do the same thing your achieving

Is this patient an incomplete SCI ? My husband had accident a year ago (L1 sci) so now they are wanting to fit him with a bilateral KAFo...one of his legs is completely healed.

I could not handle any of those braces I tried the plastic braces and I just could not wear it all the time as it hurt and I would need a few days to give my foot a rest. When I wore it, I still had a foot drag and I still wore out the the toe of my shoes. My AFO leg brace that I wear now is the one that is attached to the shoe and for me, it is the most reliable never hurting my leg, there is no wear and tear on my shoe and it allows me to do everything including square dancing. I am glad I have a brace that lets me live the life to the fullest and not a brace that restricts my activities. I don't know why everybody is promoting those stupid plastic braces as not everybody can tolerate them.

How do you prevent the AFO from stopping the blood flow in the foot? Or is that generally not a problem?

I'm getting casted next month for bilateral kafos, I have very bad knock knees so will they rotate my legs to cast them so they will be strait for the braces?

I had physical therapy San Antonio texes in the 19 50 $ I’ve have mild cerebral palsy I had braces and it helped not that one though

AFO'S are also made for Cerebral Palsy. I quit wearing mine because it kept putting so much pressure on my foot and it was very uncomfortable. I had it adjusted so many times at Shriner's Hospital in Lexington, KY and it still gave me trouble. I couldn't even stand on my feet for long periods of time.

I wedge right to the apex of the ankle such as your DF/PF cuts. But for the heel/hindfoot, I cut above the ankle and move the tibia over to align the heel. It works but makes me wonder If this is a better method to make corrections. I also like the heel being a slight bit anterior of the calf to achieve the 90 neutral. Very helpful there. I just wish we received better negatives to work with.

Man, my oven guy would totally file away at your mud on your calf until he saw white on your original mold 🙄. He nitpicks everything I mod because no one mods better than him.
