Why not just use the router with a flush cutter? Instead of using the drill??

Hhhmm, for the sake of a friendly discussion 😊. As the tenons were cut square I'd say it's quicker, and possibly simpler, to square the corners of the mortices with a chisel...I'd say most woodworkers would have a chisel... certainly a chisel is less equipment than the sander and brad gun needed to shape and affix the template to round the corners of the tenons. But definitely like watching the techniques on show!!

J. KZbin didn't show me this video until it was 3 days old...my apologies for the late viewing and comment. This technique of "ganging" the parts together seems many times better that cutting tenons at slight angles individually. I'm glad to see what I missed after KZbin showed me the newest video first. Thanks for all your hard work J.

I do mortise and tenon with rounded corners on the stools I make using my CNC router. You would LOVE a CNC router J. I made a video on my channel of my process...I think you would find it interesting even though my video editing skills aren't nearly as good as yours. Something else nice about this method is that you can make templates for parts or mortises for repeating work. Another great video J...thanks for all your hard work again.

Love the Tejano dance music background, Mr J. I lived in and around San Antonio, Texas for nearly five years as a boy, and Tejano music and TexMex food still mean comfort to me, even while living over here in Japan. Oh, and that's going to be a terrific trestle table for your coffee shop. Clearly you've developed a production method for getting out lots those tenons. How many sets of table legs will you be making?

This may work nicely as long as the workbench is empty. Good luck once it is fully loaded and weighs 300kg or more.

Thank you. It is a good design. I will build one. Four things I will change, not because your way is wrong, but because it will make it more practical for me. 1) Removable iron jaws, I do a fair amount of tool and knife making as well as woodwork. 2) Where the nut goes on the end of the threaded rod to go inside the movable jaw I would rivet it and not rely on epoxy. By the same token I would make a flange that can be bolted through the jaw in place of the washer to keep the nut in place. 3) Make a handle that can move to and fro so one need not lift up the vice to adjust it. 4) The reason for 3 is that I will drill the base so it can be bolted to the drill press table for repeat drilling.

No dust comes out of the saw even during cutting and fingers smeared with glue do not stain the wood when touched. Very curious.

Maybe consider cutting the middle part which contains the heart once and rotate it upside down while changing the orientation to "heart side to heart side and bark side to bark side".This counters warping in an area where not everything is straight grain and tends to warp.
