Frank, have you built the desk after ripping those walnut slabs? We would love to see the video.

I like buying a reputable well made hand tool knowing it will out last me and one day pass it down along with its knowledge to someone new and eager to learn.

One of the best things about working with hand tools is that you can build most of them yourself from some scrap wood and a blade.

This is fake. He slowed the handsaw footage way down. That was only a 1.5 second cut.

Sure, let’s just buy and light candles, and turn off all the electric lights while we are at it to save money we spend on electric bills. 😂

I know it is very stereotypical YT woodworking channel, but I would for sure be interested to see some videos of you making some of the jigs/shop aids you use as a hand tool woodworker (e.g. shooting board). Might not be original, but some folks do things differently and I like to get new ideas. Thanks for the great videos!

No No I agree with him Routers are FUCKING scary and can be replaced by patience and a hand plane
@erniea44247 күн бұрын
Using my router and jig, I'll cut and assemble 8-10 drawers in the time you're doing the first one. You do the math.. .

Time is money. But you're right to some extent, I've got a lot of tools that have yet to pay for themselves. Got others that have paid themselves dozens of times over tho

I didn't like the video but did as you requested and hit the like button anyway. lol. I'm kidding of course. Well done video. And that bench looks strong enough for elephants to do back flips on. Say you needed help turning it right side up? Yes, I have no doubt about that. If I built a bench like that I'd recruit my grandson and his friend. My grandson's strong but his friend is a hulk. Picked up an engine block and carried it to the truck. Small block, no heads, but an old block not made of aluminum. I'll never need a bench that large or solid and also need one that folds against the wall as my shed serves as a workshop as well as storage.

Yeah when you speed up the video when your using the hand tool it's faster how about you play the video at normal speed while you time it. You don't got to lie just because you like hand tools

Thank you so much. I just got a type 16 stanley no 4 and every video on how to sharpen a plane iron werent specific enough. When I just went for it and sharpened it, it wasnt very sharp, and after I set it up it was giving me a hard time. This brought so many untalked about parts of the set up and sharpening process that were very important in my opinion. Thanks for the tips and the great video 👍

If you are going to "tough it out" with a hand saw why not go all in and use a hand drill and regular screw driver? No half measures allowed. 🤣😂🤣
