Slight correction: On the Rosie O'Donnell show, Luther said it was Carlos Alomar that brought him in, not another background vocalist. From what I remember, he said that was possible due to going to school with Carlos.

I have two of the first generation Knosti's bought at a second hand store for very little money . One for the cleaning process and one for the rinsing proces. I make my own Destilled water/ 99,9% Isopropanol/ Wetting agent cleaning fluid mixture and rinse it with destilled water. After years they still do a very good job for my records . No complaints at all .These new ultrasonic cleaners are nice but are way to much expensive for what they are IMHO. Thanks for this imformative video

I'll tell you what... even without any modifications or changing the tubes, this little $60 gem stuns me. 2M Blue on the table, 1972 Pioneer receiver, and I've never heard my records sound so alive, so full of presence. I might not have the most discerning ears, but this product made a definite difference... enough to the point where I'd never go back to the built-in phono stage. I seriously can't recommend this enough..... so much glee for the price of a couple Big Mac Meal Deals.

All due respect but you need to look up what ultrasonic is, i.e. cavitation. I've been in the high end industry for 35 years and first started using ultrasonic machines to clean the flux off of circuit boards in the electronics industry 50 years ago. The amount of misinformation is staggering. One particularly bad source is the manufacturer of an ultrasonic machine. I find that cleaning with a good fluid followed by aa rinse then a round in my KL Audio ultrasonic is the best results I can get. I've been through 4 different ultrasonic machines and it is by far the best. I've not tried the generic type you show in the video. Use a d-stat type device to actually enable the dust to be brushed off the record. And Tergikleen being used by the Library of Congress is a myth. There are stories that they have used tergitol, a chemical compound, for some cleaning but it's not confirmed that it's used on vinyl records. So much misinformation.... I quit using Tergikleen because I suspect it did some damage to some records. I'm not certain of that but not worth it. I do not that it is responsible for leaving swirl marks from the very soft goat hair brush I have used with many other cleaners with no light marks. Jury's still out for me.

Thanks for the spirited comment! Def. Check out one of my newer videos reviewing the ultrasonic cleaners I now have. Or check out the 2 interviews I did with Scott from PerfectVinylForever. IMO he is probably the for most authority on record cleaning. I did not own any ultrasonic cleaners at the time of making this particular - but - I still highly recommend the VinylVac as the cheapest/best solution before moving up to Ultrasonic cleaners. Some people just can’t afford or would rather spend that money on more vinyl!

I am addicted to vinyl. However this video showed five records that were given to me. All the new artists were pre orders from months ago and they are also the cheapest ones. And every time I might feel guilty about a purchase - I don’t feel that when I am listening to the record.

I'm super happy you loved you gifts! The moment I found that 45, I thought of you automatically. I know The Destinations were big locally in Philly, but never made it big nation wide. . . WHY?!?! Their Amazing lol! I got that Salvatore Dragatto as well, and Colemine used my description in their last community post on the release day(I said it had a Western Horror film vibe lol). Also, I did see that Jimmy Scott on your Discogs and was intrigued. I have a Seth Macfarlane record that he sings this title song They Say It's Wonderful that sounds AMAZING! And, I've been eyeballing a Jimmy Scott record that was released in 2016 titled (I Go Back Home, A Story About Hoping And Dreaming) that is a limited edition numbered copy and he has a couple songs on it with Joe Pesci. I streamed it, and it's a very heartwarming album, just all around amazing as well. Happy New Year! I'm so excited for you and the channel and what 2025 will bring, I see you on the way up Up UP. Hi, thanks for the review. I will be happy to see more reviews of mid tier audiophile grade reprint...I actually bought this one after watching the review. That being said do you find Sam voice being pushed slightly behind all instruments. Especially for the first track on A side. The rest i feel are more balanced or maybe my ear adapted for this type of presentation but I felt that his voice should have been positioned in a more forward manner. To be honest the instruments sound amazing bit still...he should be the star of the show...or at least i feel so...

Cassettes doesn't have to sound bad at all as you mentioned in clip. In fact they could perform like cd's. Skip the pre-recorded and record your own music on a good japaneese build cassette deck, like Technics, Pioneer. Use fresh premium cassettes from Maxell or TDK and then you can enjoy a fantastisc sound quality even on your FIIO.

Hey, please forgive me if I'm wrong, but on one of your videos, I thought you said if you buy a Box Set, you take out the Records/disk's and store them separately. Why would you do that??? The Box is the main thing, that houses the package. The Box makes the package cool to look at. The box often comes with cool artwork. What you do, is a waste of a cool package. Sorry man, but I don't understand why you do such a thing??? Like I said, if I heard you wrong, I apologize. Cheers Martin

Thanks for the question! And thanks for watching! I should do a whole video on this. I take them out because I sleeve them and I usually keep the vinyl in the outer sleeve so I can quickly take it out and listen without having to take out the jacket. I have a separate shelf for the boxes and any extras they contain and I can quickly get to those if I want too. I get worried about damaging the jackets by not having outersleeves so that is the main reason. But I have pined over this. It def. Takes up more space.

If I could spend a grand for an ultrasound record cleaner I wouldn't have to reuse cleaning solution. That said, I've had great results with a manual Vinyl Styl (the Knosti record clamp looks very much like the Vinyl Styl) and the Spin Clean solution. I also like the tactile aspects of manual cleaning. But I'm also the guy that grinds my own coffee beans and brews the pour over and French press methods. I appreciate that you showed the unit flooding your table. It could be a design flaw or material shortcoming that can't withstand shipping. Maybe they could ship the units with the plugs not installed. Great review! Honesty is always king!

At the beginning of the video you say no one else is talking about this turn table, that’s a lie, there’s at least 5 videos I see about the LP7 that were made before yours. Also what’s the point of unboxing and setup without showing how the belt can be setup? Strange choice.
@PiecesofVinyl21 күн бұрын
The unboxing was to show all the things you get in the box. I thought attaching the belt was pretty self explanatory - but noted. Compared with project - rega - U-turn - or Fluance …maybe even Angels Horn - not many people talk about this and I found that surprising considering what you get with this compared to most of those models. Not really a criticism but all your shots of styli in a record groove seem to show a shibata type next to an elliptical or even just a conical? Whereas a micro-line is cut to ride deep in the groove as well in a similar way to a shibata..

Glad I found your video. I purchased a used @M Black cartridge as I was eager to try a MM cartridge to see if it was more compatible with my preamp (lower noise vs. MC). when I installed it, however, it sounded good, but it rode very low on the record. I was afraid I had gotten a defective unit because of its low rider appearance. I was trying to save up for a replacement stylus, but having seen your video I plan to try mounting the cartridge again. Thanks!

I still to this day look at mine and think something is wrong with it - but it sounds great. I do use the lowest recommended tracking force which is 1.5grams. These carts just ride low.

@@PiecesofVinyl The op-amps in the photo on the Fosi product page do indeed look soldered, but there is a line of text over the photo that reads "replace with DIP8 dual discrete op-amps…" But since this is a very new product, maybe 1) the replaceable op-amps were left out of the shipping product, and the promotions department didn't get the memo (correct photo, wrong text, or 2) the replaceable op-amps *are* in the shipping product, and the promotions department didn't get the memo (wrong photo, correct text.
