Is it possible that the flare up issues you have are due to how close that windscreen is? I use a trangia in a Sterno stove, and flame is definitely affected by whether i have the door open. Putting the fuel part of the burner in a hot environment seems to be an issue. In a 25 or 27, the fuel part is in the cooler vented part. Just wondering. I'd hate to see that burner get any more like a torch. Cheers!

Thank you so much for this video. You just saved me a whole bunch of unwanted frustration and money. Better than the Sram video for sure.

Why take fresh mushrooms when they are 90% water? Take dehydrated ones and they will rehydrate in the cook. Also never take raw eggs lol.

Looks delicious. Something to consider adding to your seasoning is dried chives. Weighs practically nothing, but packs a flavorful punch!

Why not throw in some carrots, cabbage etc to boost vitamins and taste?
@ReluctantRider3 ай бұрын
@annbretagne2108 If I make a stew with stock only, then I add more ingredients, but with a Guinness or Ale stew it just waters down and weakens the flavour for me. It will still taste very nice, but I prefer to maintain the strength of flavour with this one.

How much Guinness do tou use in a stew? Half a can or all od it? ❤
@ReluctantRider3 ай бұрын
@@amonster8mymother depends on the size of the stew. I reckon enough to cover all the ingredients plus 1cm or so for reducing the gravy a bit.

Hi - for cooking a pomodoro/red sauce would you not use an aluminum pan? I understand the acidity of tomatoes can have a negative reaction with aluminum. Wondering what you would use to cook a red sauce.

Is it plain yogurt, did you leave the dough to prove, why is there no yeast did you rinse the rice after cooking? This looks brilliant and it’s going to be the first major cook on my trangia 25.

Just a couple of things champ that your got wrong in your video. 1. You don't pull up and draw a vacuum AND then close off the valve, the Sram manual states at step 5 "While pressing down lightly, turn the Bleeding Edge™ tool clockwise until it stops. Turn the tool with a moderate amount of additional torque to close the bleed port. The system is now closed". You only pull up on the plunger at the end AFTER the system is closed to prevent any excess fluid leaks from the syringe when you disconnect. 2. When you tried a second time to bleed you left an air gap in the syringe but the Sram manual states at step 1 "Hold the syringe upright, cover the tip with a shop towel, and gently depress the plunger to purge any air bubbles from the syringe". All the best and thanks for the great video.

‘Plastic’ is actually structurally as strong as aluminium, its just put into our heads that plastic isnt very strong. Vw use plastic in their engines ect… i wouldnt worry if anyone uses this as a reason not to buy, you wont notice.

They are carbon reinforced plastic, essentially a slightly weaker carbonfibre structure. Extremely strong

Another delicious recipe from Luke. Thank you for the video. I would like to know what do you burn as a fuel. If I burn denaturated alcohol, the Trangia burner burns so powerful that you risk to burn whatever on the pot or pan. Therefore I always need to use the simmer ring. However, you burn "something" that burns very clean with gentle flame power that doesn't turn your into charcoal :). Do you add some water in it?
