Samuel L Jackson hasn’t been nominated since Pulp Fiction because every character role that he plays is always the same. There are MANY actors that do this, unfortunately. Martin Landau on the other hand, is a true actor. He’s different and believable every time!! There is a difference between a Movie Star and an Actor.🥰🥰🥰

Renee Zellweger was a really bad one as well.

It's the biggest award for celebrities, and I believe they are at their most vulnerable. It's a crime that they can't be free to be sad, happy, disappointed etc. Doesn't the public take enough from these people? Really who are you to tell people M Driver's reaction was "over the top" It's not a wonder our favorite stars don't go out in public. For many this will be the only time that they are nonnominated is it asking too much to let them have the moment without fear of being called out for being over the top?

Jennifer Lawrence shouldn't have won. Pretty much everyone in her category deserved the win, especially Chastain and Riva. I guess she have to thank Harvey Weinstein for that.

The studio system was still in place in the 1950s so if the studio heads determined what category an actor would be nominated in so be it.

Not saying I agree with all your assessments but most I agree, the more they’re either giving out trophies for their whole work and not the actual movie or just giving it for popularity, the less the meaning of winning this prestigious award in acting.

Completely disagree with Bening. Swank in Boys Don't Cry is an all timer performance.

I don't mind his Oscar win, what I think was AWFUL is that he slapped someone in the face.

You're right about Tatum Oneal being in the lead actress category she's literally in every frame of the movie. Also, I have seen "A Touch of Class" several times and don't get why Glenda Jackson won the award. I believe it should have been Tatum, Marsha Mason, or Ellen Burstyn.

It just amazes me how many awards ceremonies they have in Hollywood for Actors & Actresses and everyone else that works in that business..

Also gonna be Parthe-NOPE from me 😂 Otherwise lots of films to look forward to and hope a lot of them show up at tiff/nyff. I am still curious to see Megalopolis and The Apprentice partly because their distribution is still questionable...

Morgan Freeman was fine in Million Dollar Baby, but Clive Owen won the BAFTA and for me that was the better choice.

If Ellen Paige won the Oscar and then transitioned into a man (which she has if you believe all that) would they have to give back the award which is meant for an actress?

Hereditary is the darkest most severe absolutely perfect horror film ever made. It’s also one of the best films ever made. These cocksuckers are never ever ever ever going to fucking welcome something like this. And where is Florence pugh up in this bitch for the other best horror movie ever made.

Nightcrawler is way too dark for the academy. Come the fuck on. It’s also a comedy. A Dark awful horrendous bleak scary film. That’s still a satirical comedy. I don’t feel like the Academy goes for that kind of shit. They’re way too balless. Snatchless. Like a ken doll.

I don’t read Minnie Driver’s reaction as overly shocked that Kim won. More like ”wow, a homerun!” as she won multiple award leading up to the Oscars.

Heartburn is a hidden gem. Not only does it feature Streep and Jack Nicholson, it's written by Nora Ephron, and is a semi-biographical account of her marriage to Carl Bernstein.
