Wait a 2022 ford Explorer? What a garbage brand that can't design a reliable transmission

You dont need 10 speeds , too big and more parts to fail. 6 speed should of been the limit.

I love your channel but I have to disagree with you on the 3.5... I have a 2014 and currently have 251k miles on it. My mechanic replaced both turbo coolant lines (even though just the driver side was leaking) without removing the turbos for $1900.. I just had to replace the heater core hose the other day ($55 for the hose and $60 for the coolant) I did the hose myself. Replaced the throttle body myself last year (less then $200) and replaced both valve cover gaskets at 130k miles ($700) This truck started to make the torque converter shudder so I had the transmission flushed ($370) and thats all.. For a 10 year old truck with 251k miles on it I would say that's a pretty good win for the 3.5...

This seems intentional to me almost like they were anticipating the EV mandate so they are allowing this defect to continue figuring they will sell you an electric POS in a couple of years. I left Ford back in 1999 never looked back my first car was a 66 mustang with a 289 hands down one of the best engines they ever produced.

you can spin spindle on a bearing or rig it so that you can spin it while you torch bearing evenly and bearing will fall out on its own.

It's likely that to put that threaded hole in from the other end would have meant another fixture at the CNC machine, another CNC setup and more time in the machine shop.

Man, its too bad we didnt already have a thing that would tell the compressor to cycle. Maybe something like a low pressure cycle switch, or something. Something that can be changed in 5 minutes, and only costs $15.

Sorry bro but checking my oil is how I found out. Came straight home from a fresh oil change at the dealership. When I noticed I got straight online and found out immediately the oil consumption issues. They're making me jump through so many Hoops my extended warranty is going to run out first. I don't know what to do it's using two or three quarts per week it's to the point that I am pouring burnt oil in my engine

$6-7K for a new trans vs $5.5 -6 for a rebuild. No brainer get the new transmission for the difference in price. You know that yours went bad, you don't know if something was missed in the rebuild some little piece of metal or clutch pack hiding somewhere where it was missed. I would assume that the warranty would be better on a new trans also.

I check my oil every time I fuel up. 36 gallon tank so every 800 miles or so. I kind of thought this was a normal procedure for people who care about their vehicles? Didn't realize I was in the 1%-5% who actually does this. I would add that I don't necessarily check my oil to see what the level is, but to get a general trend for how much I'm burning/using over a known period of time. This is mechanic 101 stuff here. If I'm regularly burning 1qt every 10,000 miles (2018 F150 5.0 with 90k miles), then all of a sudden it changes, I know something is up. This is a great way to diagnose and fix a problem before it requires an entire engine replacement, especially when you are out of warranty... The last thing we need to be telling people is to not check their oil. I'm also a previous owner of a Subaru STI, where if the oil light came on you have already destroyed your engine. YMMV. Monitor your fluid levels guys, it's literally just common sense.

My buddy has a 2021 Ford F150 with 3 transmission replacements in 43,000 miles. The town he lives in doesn’t even have 1 traffic light. He doesn’t tow anything. He just Dumped it before the 60,000 mile warranty. I feel sorry for the person that buys this vehicle.

Imagine this being your dealer paying top dollar to get your car fixed there. Not saying he doesn't know what he is doing and it's not fixed right but usually the dealer is much more cause the mechanics are trained on that make and they have all the special tools to do the job faster! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
