10:04 In the heat of the situation, this isn't really obvious. Connor might've thought of it, maybe hank, but it isn't likely.

It really bothered me that every moment of the game I felt I was seeing something I had already seen before. It was so unoriginally written, so much more could have been done with the tools and resources that built this game. The junkyard scene was cool though, the start of it felt like all these broken machines were fighting for parts to be the one who can repair themselves to get out - if only that was actually what was happening it could have stayed feeling that way until the end of the scene.

So if you've watched all the detroit endings, you know that all thd deviancy crap was just designed and programmed into androids. So why are you questioning why is it that androids can become deviant so quickly just by hearing some Marcuses' words? It is literally written in the plot of the game and it makes complete sense. Seems like you did a lazy job at criticizing this game :)

Ok ik this isn’t a popular opinion but Chloe and max’s friendship (intentionally by the game or not) is the perfect representation of toxic friendships. I cannot tell you how many ppl I know have a friend like Chloe, and are still in the friendship because “I’ve known them so long!” Or because they genuinely enjoy that person when they ARENT being awful. It IS realistic. Just not realistic that chloe is in the right for everything or even a good person.

Finally caught up with the stream, gotta say I have to agree with you about LiS's sense of place. I think the reason why I like LiS: True Colors a lot more is how the place ties in with the story a lot more than prev games. Safi being a shapeshifter is something I did not see coming. Moses is ok and the chimney scene is very cute. I think the game is hyping up Diamond, but so far I feel like you could have skipped most of her scenes and the game would barely change.

Actually max is the terrible friend here. Chloe was just a normal girl, then her dad suddenly dies and he means the world to her. Her best friend moves states away and completely ignores her and isn’t there for chloe at ALL. Then chloe meets rachel and she also means the world to her. We can see in Bts (before the storm) that chloes entire diary was dedicated to max, she was so hurt. Then rachel disappears. Chloe finds out Max has been at blackwell for months and hasn’t given a single f to talk to chloe. We see max feeling guilty about it in Ep2 I believe. Sure chloe isn’t perfect but this girl is so deeply HURT by so many people. Not to forget nathan drugged her and took advantage of her. Max isnt ANY better.

The problem with Quantic Dream games is that they're actually good, they just feel like a huge technology showcase instead of an actual thinkpiece. David Cage should definitely have a room of really good writers to filter and implement his ideas more carefully. His writing is so on the nose in such an unapologetically french way that it ruins the actual material

In Skyrim, I sometimes quicksave and choose aggressive dialogue options to freak out the Jarls or my companions. In DE, I never even consider being mean to Kim. I can’t bring myself to do it, it feels as gut-wrenching as the Undertale genocide route

i kinda loved life is strange back them , i think is because we took some time to realise how bad the telltale games really are , then lis comes and is arguably better in every aspect , specially the music , btw there is a scene that the 2 girls are lying in bed and the music is playing , i think the camera is moving if my memory don't fail me, if you press a button or do whatever they get out of bed , but if you do nothin the scene just go on like they are chilling there listening to a song and enjoying the day , i remember that i thought that was genius stuff

1.) The "obvious solution" for figuring out which Connor is Deviant and which one is Machine wouldn't work. Because Hank is the one holding the gun, and both Deviant and Machine Connor know that doing anything he doesn't want them to do will get them killed. This includes trying to run away or reach out to a machine to make it "Deviant". In addition, the other Connor could just force Connor into a pin where he uses him as a shield and tries to deactivate Connor. The plan you propose wouldn't work. 2.) I definitely agree that the Alice plot-twist was stupid and wasted better potential for a robotic mother and human child story. But moving to Canada was still a better call than staying in Detroit. The situation of Detroit by the end of the game makes that obvious. 3.) This point is completely mute because one, yes, the game makes explicitly clear what is defined as "alive"; the ability to choose your own path, to be aware of your existence, to feel things, and to even be afraid of dying. Those points hit the player over the head throughout the entire game over and over again, so it's honestly funny that you missed that. This, and the game allows for more ambiguity because it wants to be a reflection of your own feelings towards the subject and towards particular circumstances/scenarios because it's designed to do just that. That's why there's 85 total endings you can get in this game. Because it's meant to ultimately reflect your own self moreso than tell you what you should think and feel towards certain scenarios. Because that's the whole point of the game.

Unpopular opinion: Max is a way worse friend than Chloe. And don't take this the wrong way, i love Max, but she is 100% the reason Chloe is the way she is. Yes, it wasn't her fault that her parents made her move away, but it's her fault for eventually ghosting Chloe completely. Chloe was grieving and on top of that abandoned by her best friend, who was supposed to be there for her. The reason why i think Max is responsible is because in the alternate timeline where Chloe ends up paralyzed, it is stated that while Max didn't visit Chloe, she still sent her letters and stayed in touch with her. We can clearly see how just staying in touch with her made her a completely different person. If Max stayed in Chloe's life, i don't think Chloe would ever become this ''punk brat'' that smokes weed, is associated with dr/g dealers and would unlikely ever interact with Nate, which would result in her staying alive.

The problem is, I think Chloe ended up this way because of everything that happened. Her dad died, and her friend leaves. Said friend says they will keep in contact but never did. Why? She knew Chloe went through something awful, and she just ghosted her. Max is not blameless in this. She literally abandoned Chloe and didn't even have the goal of meeting up with her when she returned. Chloe's mom shacks up with someone basically right away, not even considering that her daughter is still mourning and just expecting Chloe to accept it when it's shown in Before a Storm, Chloe was not okay. She was having nightmares and was all around traumatized. And what does her mom do? She just moves on like she never even cared for Chloe's dad at all. Chloe makes a friend who is toxic, and Chloe develops toxic traits to please the only person who ever gave her the time of day. Everyone else just left her behind or didn't even consider her. But since Chloe had no one else, she stays with Rachel despite how downright awful Rachel is. She was a shit character. She was manipulative, abusive, toxic, and she was just using Chloe. Now yes, Chloe is toxic and she needs to do something about that but keep in mind after her dad died, everyone just moved on and never even considered that a child just lost her dad to something awful. No one helped her, no one consoled her, no one was there for her. They all just focused on themselves. Then, to top it all off, the universe wants her to die tragically. As if she hasn't been through enough. I get Chloe is not blameless, I'm not justifying her actions, but the people in her life could have done more. This is evident in the alternate universe where Chloe is disabled and she is so damn sweet despite everything. Because she has support. Support is what made the difference.

Chloe is interesting character in Life is Strange, not everyone would like her character. But for me liking a character doesn't mean you set an example from that character, same with how people like Micah from RDR2 as character despite he's being jackass, probably chloe is on the list with Micah anyway. Bad writing or not, Chloe is better than one dimensional character, its better to be hated and known rather than be forgotten

For me i think its perfect because of how realistic it makes out Chloe to be as an.. narcissistic personality whos only 'tie' to reality (both rachel and her dad) are killed off. She grows incredibly cyncial, dependent on drugs, and thus takes things out on Max. Chloe would rather blame someone because if she doesnt 'its all her fault' but to me thats a PERFECT representation of how cyncial, angry at the world people will get at everyone around them and that to me, as someone who played this game at 13 with a TOXIC friendship currently going on, i realized that this sort of friendship, wherein youre literally going to sacrifice the world for them, only ends up hurting you
