I really liked this interview, for me waking up was something really scary and difficult, but then I started thinking about all the opportunities available and this video was a great example of how we can keep going forward.

It bothers me that the second girl had a stronger case than Candace Conti, not to take anything away from her, and the case was dismissed. If you think about it, the Fremont elders knew he Kendrick targeted his ex step daughter before he met and gave field service rides to Candace Conti, and their foreknowledge could have spared her. The same is true for the second step daughter when he remarried. Except on top of their foreknowledge, the step daughter reported to police and there was a criminal conviction, which is stronger evidence he victimized her, and there is the added element of how they sent that letter of recommendation, to further convince the Oakley congregation people, including his second wife, that he is a stand-up guy who was good with kids. I guess Candace had the added element of being victimized during field service, which must have been the important factor.

Wow.. wonderful interview. Very enlightened. I have left for years, had some doubts, thinking independently I was regarded as evil. Visited very recently and found that NOTHING has changed except women wearing pants and men sporting beards. It sill very programmed and rehearsed. Stiff and stuffy.

I had committed a disfellowshipping offence and thought it best to approach the elders to help me resolve the issue, as we are encouraged to do. During the meeting with the two elders I was told this, that the body of elders are " spiritual policemen " Up until that moment my thinking was of the wondering sheep who got lost and that the shepherd had left the flock and went to great lengths to find the one who was lost and return it to the flock, I wasn't prepared for the shepherd to have a rifle in his hand. For the next nine years I was PIMO, the " spiritual policeman " was also the congregation overseer who wanted nothing to do with me after that.I finally had enough after a brother who had left the " truth " took his own life. Unknown to me and as I learned later he initially and desperately wanted help from the elders. Unfortunately the elders are not equipped or qualified to deal with severe depression and emotional trauma as a result of JW policy. Thankfully we as exJW's have channels like this and many others around the world who tell their stories and lend their support. We are not apostates. We are loving, caring and empathetic - intolerant of injustice wherever we find it. We've evolved.

Although you may view your dedication to the organization to be wrong, as I do, your dedication to God is not. God has seen your faith and love for Him, you are most definitely not alone.

The New Zealand commission final report came out this year. The Org tried a last minute legal hustle to have the bits about them redacted or removed. Fortunately that failed. However it's worth noting that their entire attitude was that they have never had children in their care and as such have no reason to be involved in the investigation.

According to scripture the "Congregation" is the "Entire Congregation" not just "the elders". This is what is wrong with the "judicial" process. The entire congregation is kept in the dark about judicial processes. Every brother and sister should be part of the "Judicial" process. Elders should not be put on a pedestal and certainly not given all that power of judging. The entire congregation should give their judgment of guilty or not guilty and what the penalty should be. JW's do not read or understand their Bible. They study it and carry it with them and teach with it but do not understand it. In order to come to the truth witnesses are needed in a judicial process. Repentence is owed to the one who was wronged not to elders. Forgiveness is up to the one who was wronged not by elders. Please read this and see if you agree with this explanation of what forgiveness is and is not. I read it and agree. God does not forgive people who are guilty of willful, malicious sin and who refuse to acknowledge their mistakes, change their ways, and apologize to those whom they have hurt. (Proverbs 28:13; Acts 26:20; Hebrews 10:26) Such unrepentant ones become God’s enemies, and he does not require us to forgive those whom he has not forgiven.​-Psalm 139:21, 22. Also the governing body should not be put on a pedestal because they refuse to acknowledge their mistakes, change their ways, and apologize to those they have hurt. They have become God's enemies long ago and all those who willingly continue to follow them become God's enemies as well.

The bible talks about the earthly hope, this isnt your only life, there will be a paradise earth, they didnt get everything wrong, all that makes complete scense to me
