I remember I went to maimai on my bday, and there was someone trying to All Perfect this one song. I forgot his name but if you, the one who kept picking Divide et impera at a maimai cab on Nov 12 2024, the song has been stuck in my head since

Somehow this is new to me that you can tap the screen 🗿 than tapping the button or i was wrong since i was having a hard to adapt to this since expert lvl messed me up Follow up question: Can you play on screen like tapping the notes in it or play in the taps

Im a gloveless player that plays with the button, but when i injure myself or when the skin on fingers finally rips after 4 consecutive hours of playing (maimai isnt that crowded where i live), i had to switch to touch in order to reduce friction that could further rip my skin off. OR when some hardcore player plays too aggresively that they jammed the button or literally just pop that shi off (usually more than two buttons are down), everyone is forced to play touch. Buttons ftw tho

So you're telling me the reason people play lazer is because the devs put a minor annoyance to encourage players to not switch yet? Also listen here self centred prick. Just because YOU don't play mania doesn't mean no one should care about it. Have consideration for the other half of the player base

When I posted my first comment on here I hadn't finished the video yet. And now that I have, I want to say a few things about how this made me feel. I've been playing on average 1h20min everyday for the past 4 and half years. During that time I've farmed many SS ranks and I'm proud to say I've reached a considerable amount. I just love the feeling of getting that perfect score. For some reason this video made me feel a certain way about the journey that I've had. osu is much more than just a game to me, it's a big part of my life. And no matter how much I fuck up my hands playing it, I always come back to it. This video made me realize that if I didn't have osu in my life, I'd just be empty and I'd do nothing spectacular all day every day. I really admire the dedication this player put into maimai. It resonates with me a lot. I'm having trouble putting words on it lmao. Anyways I'm done yapping I think. Thanks for making this masterpiece of a documentary.

i feel like beat saber connects to taiko a bit, because you also have two color notes, red and blue, and they're both sorta in the same lane, plus sabers and bachis arent that different lol

As someone who's _only_ familiar with lazer, it seems like a fair enough assessment to me. I also think they've been addressing several of the features you've mentioned, maybe possibly even as the _result_ of this video, which I think is awesome. I do think that lazer is doing the right thing by just continuously making improvements without forcing the player base though. It's a part of this thing called change management: don't piss off the majority of your user base but listen to them, take their feedback to heart and over time you'll convince them to make the switch. Unfortunately and annoyingly lazer just has this stigma now which I think stops a lot of people from still trying it out.

i still cant believe woop just started playing maimai like 3 months after i started my master in anu (i had already played the game for 3 yrs at that point), and i can remember he got something like 99% score on 14. and before i even finished my degree he has already maxed out on rating💀 also guys if you want cheap transport buy Trainlink 180 day pass! at price of 420 for unlimited travel its a steal!

there's been multiple times where i have been playing project sekai on the bus (in australia, in sydney) and been complimented on my skills (even though i only play 25-30 expert/master levels). i've also overheard people on that bus (mostly high school guys from the boys only school in the area) calling me "the rhythm game girl". i am nonbinary. lmao.

Clickbait video, expected constructive review, got complain about not getting views. Absolute trash, doesn't even answer the view title, please change to "Why I hate osu! lazer", just a guy yaps about how things change and how development takes time.

this is such an interesting video to see as a hardcore-turned-casual maimai player. I thought I was hardcore but I guess it really makes a difference in motivation when you’re surrounded with 16k+ players! So cool seeing a maimai documentary like this though, and super interesting to see other people’s mindset. Thanks for the vid ✌️

Amazing and wholesome content! Can really relate this where he mentioned about language barrier with a Japanese player. I’m from Myanmar, currently staying at Bangkok and realizing that most of the players are friendly even though I can’t speak in Thai language.

Would love to add to the discussion games that focus entirely on rhythm but minimally on input eg. rhythm heaven 7th beat games games. Or games that fuse rhythm skill with other genres eg. Mad Rat Dead, Bullets Per Minute
