Incarnation in the Old Testament | Ezekiel

Ezekiel 34 wrestles with the question of God’s return to his people-not only whether it will happen but also what it will look like. In answer, God declares that he will share the shepherding vocation with the Davidic king. Beyond simply answering the logistical question of how God might return to the people of Israel, this idea sets us up to better understand later conceptions of Jesus’s incarnation and vocation as the good shepherd.
