I think the Netherlands are always dark horses for these tournaments. Talent wise I honestly think only England France and Germany are ahead of them. I can see them making the semis.

We'll never succeed in winning a tournament until we have a coach that instils a "win at all costs" mentality. Being happy with reaching semi-finals and finishing runner up sums us up.

In a sense, Poland should not even be at these Euros, given their qualifying path. They would have had a slightly more favourable draw had they qualified automatically. Like many people, I don't see them having any serious impact on this group, expecting them to finish last.The fact they qualified also makes me sad for the players and especially Robert Lewandowski. His final tournament could have been the World Cup where Poland made a decent performance along with 2 Lewandowski goals. Now that they made these Euros, and with the expected result, this great player's international career looks set to end in a poor unfortunate way. Not making these Euros would have also allows Poland to immediately enter a rebuilding phase which they desperately need. They are still relying on a soon to be gone veteran striker and have been through very disappointing years. Now that they will be in Germany, Poland will have to wait to get knocked out to start rebuilding.

I think Poland heavy rely on Robert Lewandowski too much. I understand that he is a great player but they need to work together and rely Lewandowski when need it. Football is a team effort for both attacking and defending. You win some, lose some, and draw some which is a learning experience to grow even more. I see Poland finish 4th in Group D

I agree with you that Poland will finish 4th in their group. Besides the fact their top players are out of form, I think they keep making really silly mistakes. In qualifying, they were comfortably beating Moldova 2-0, gifted them 2 goals and ended up losing to one of the worst sides in the continent. Santos is out, but I think the players were to blame for their poor qualifying. Szczesny was big for them in the playoffs, but I don't think it will be enough against France and Netherlands

I dont rate france, if Kane had scored his penalty everyone would be saying we are better than them. We outplayed them the same way we outplay everyone. As long as the players dont settle for a one goal lead we will win this tournament.

Floor: quarters. Ceiling: final, but no win. If I was in charge, I'd play 3-4-3 or 3-2-4-1 with Gordon at LWB, Mainoo as Rice's midfield partner, Foden and Bellingham together behind Kane. When we defend, Foden and Bellingham will alternate in terms of defending the wings, with the other joining Kane on counterattacks. My back 3 will be Walker, Stones and Konsa. It's similar to Ericsson's 4-1-4-1, where Carrick/Hargreaves played as a holding midfielder to accomodate Gerrard & Lampard.

You can always count on Southgate to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

No, no we can't. We are absolutely awful in tournaments. They are good when they play for their clubs, but 11 Serbs on a field is a disaster. But hey, at least we have the best basketball player in the world, who does not want to play for us.
