As a social studies teacher, teaching the immigrant population....ALL my students can name all three branches of government and the Constitutional theory dilinating the three branches, AND the powers held by all branches. And they are 9th graders.

americans need to desperately learn to use the internet in order to debunk for themselves these products, and stop giving in to this. your own country does not care about regulations for the benefits of the consumers, because if they did, this would never become this extreme. i feel so bad for you all, cause this is just not something ive seen where i am from in europe. this is extreme, uncommon most places in the world, and just really sad. edit: what you said in the end is perfect. it saddens me the US has come so far from what health actually is, and that healthy citizens is not their priority.

You would be scared if you had my job. There are college students from southern states who cannot read a book for 5th graders. Many don’t even know the first 10 amendments. They think the 1st amendment applies to actions by private companies and citizens. They don’t get it that it only protects you from government action. They also say they know the Bible but their comprehension is F’d up. Some scammer out there told them what they wanted these people to believe it means, not what it really means.

The lack of responsibility is so bad, even “simple” things like mindfulness can be really harmful. It can trigger people with PTSD and if you have an individualistic mindset (which is the default for westerners) practicing mindfulness just makes you more selfish! Also I really hate the takeover of corporate speak, it’s so insidious. Like why on earth would anyone want to develop a personal brand? And how is that self care??? I’m just here for the vibes, I’m not for sale. Thank you for this video 💕

I’m a gen alpha kid (late middle school), I’m one of the people who are smart, but so many people just dumb, some can’t read very well, but also, in band class so many people just play games or watch KZbin when there’s a sub no matter what. They all just wanna play video games and watch KZbin. The school blocked so many games but it still doesn’t help. People are in their phones like 30% of the time. It sucks

It's wild to me that the followers of these influencers don't just google the product. It's not hard to type "does XYZ work" into Google and get a quick answer. These people are brainwashed.

"education is the key to social mobility." I mean... it used to be, but post 2008 when many millennials were graduating with the bachelor's degrees we were explicitly told would get us good jobs, the goalposts shifted and we needed to get a masters to get anywhere. then the goalposts shifted again to where our liberal arts degrees were actually completely useless, and to get out of the service industry we would need to re educate ourselves out of our own pockets while labouring under crippling student debt already. the privatization of education turned it into yet another capital venture, one spewing out millions of dollars of student debt interest, to which the state happily said "fantastic." meanwhile, we were gaslit into believing that all the critical thinking we had been educated to do was wrong, and told we'd be fine if we just work hard enough. public education conditioned us to be wage slaves, private education gave us little other option.

Anyone, and I do mean ANYONE should be held liable for claims they make. It would greatly reduce the amount of influencers posting wild products with false results or misleading claims. At least they should have to add a disclaimer based on their own opinion or the fact that they were paid to make the content. I know social media is trying to solve this issue with having creators disclose paid advertising/promotional content. However, many are still dishonest. If they were threatened by liability, they may look at these promotions/ads that they are creating much differently. Right now they have no fear of losing anything and only gain followers from their ridiculous claims. New laws need to exist for social media sooner rather than later. We have a serious problem here!

Taking gummy vitamins is a whole 3 course meal 😂😂 who wakes up and wants to eat candy, and that much candy? How does someone not use their eyes and be like, hmm, thats probably more gelatin and filler than vitamin. But I guess people do assume the whole gummy is 100% vitamin and not...any other ingredients? 10 years ago the online health and wellness community was obsessed with reading the nutrition facts and labels. Now people just take everything as fact and dont question anything. This instant gratification mindset is ruining societies ability to use and practice deductive reasoning. Somehow we simultaneously understand every company is lying to us but yet no one bats an eye about it and need it in every flavor and color. I dont get it.

I have a very simple skin care and agree that using products isn't actually self care. However, I will also state that having your everything shower and moisturizing is personally relaxing. It's not about how it makes me look. It's about how I feel when I'm fresh out of a steamy room.

I can't afford any of these fancy products, I have even had to ditch the face serums because I am on a tight budget. Just because I'm broke, does not mean I am unhealthy and not glowing, I'm just smarter about my choices!
@user-um8zt2ke8o11 сағат бұрын
A little bit of good extra virgin olive oil is amazing for hair and skin, goes a long way! All these serums are made based off simple ingredients anyway, like oats, rice water, olive or coconut oil, etc. They just put a pinch in their formula and the rest is filler, at marked up prices. They keep fooling us to pay for less authentic product!

If you want to take supplements, look for ones that have been 3rd-party tested to show that they actually contain the vitamins and minerals they claim in the quantities they claim. Some are reliable and high-quality (enough that my “prescription” prenatal vitamins were literally the same Nature Made prenatals from the grocery store with my pharmacy’s info slapped on the side), but supplements aren’t actually checked by the government to make sure the listed contents are accurate. Make sure you’re getting what you’re paying for.

Capitalism is not the problem, the issue is regulation and penalties lacking in your country. Australia is not perfect but we have very heavy regulations in all products. You need to speak to your politics only the "POLICIES" of politics in your country and voting for the lesser evil is the only way to make change. Any non medically required supplement is a waste of money and/or bad for you. Also a fool and thier money are easily parted!
@EmL-kg5gn5 сағат бұрын
True, regulations do minimise the damage in Aus and NZ. But it is still an issue even among Drs! I have chronic fatigue and even though my iron was in the normal range my Dr refused to treat me until I tried iron tablets for several months. Iron tablets made me feel even worse!!!

Your videos are just so informative and introspective. The fact that everything has a cost when back in ancient times, we just enjoyed the earth. We enjoyed community, ocean, running, hiking. Everything free but also to be able to survive. And it’s literally being sold back to us. That is so insane to think about. Thank you for this evaluation!
