Well they hit the same highs so they are equal that way. But for me Patti sometimes sounds more like she is screeching in a few of those higher notes, whereas Streisand still sounds like she is singing. And Patti seems to need to squat down and shake to get up there, whereas Barbra just stands there and seems to effortlessly go there. They are both great. But for me Barbra is the best there ever was. In her prime nobody could top her.

Celine Dion is a singer with a melodious voice who continues to practice so that her voice is like an angel, but Mariah Carey is a singer who was given this beautiful voice directly from God directly, even when she had vocal problems she could still sing because basically her voice was a gift, she could even speak with a whistle tone and can hit lower notes than a man's tone

mariah have nodule but still can singing and many singers prever choose celine song to sing bcs mariah song have more technic and more more hard then celine song, mariah can sing from low notes suddenly to super high note or whistle and maroah can do more riff n runs, mariah still untouchable in her prime bcs her voice so clear and girly power, imagine if mariah dont have nodules

Whitney had a magnificent instrument! Its like comparing apples and oranges. Or the beauty of two different roses. You cant. A huge God Given talent Whitney had, but Streisand had a super huge gift as well with a very unique and special artistry to it. A very different talent. Two different vocalists. Bless them both for what they did!!! Hearing and seeing Whitney makes me sad.

She hast to go lower because she’s getting older. It happens to all singers as they get older, whether you have a fabulous voice or not your vocal register deepens and you go lower and it’s still fabulous. But I’m so tired of her telling everybody that she never took lessons In the mid 60s, she lost her voice while she was singing Cabaret in big cities. Her manager found Judy Davis who people called the Plumber in New Jersey/New York, she took a lot of very famous voices and Barbara took lessons from her. The reason being she kept losing her voice. She had to learn how to breathe, just like Pavarotti had to learn how to breathe from a very famous Soprano Joan Sutherland. He credits her with saving his voice. Babs doesn’t give anybody credit for helping her in her career. She says she did it all by herself. Such a glorious singer and that nose! It’s a resonance chamber. If it wasn’t for Judy Davis, she may not have had that breath control, and the working of the consonants and the vowels she needed so she could keep singing the way she sings. There’s a book Barbara didn’t like back in the day by actor Barry Dennon. He’s the one who started Barbra out and found those songs in the early days but when she got her manager, she cut everybody out except maybe for one person. His book is more true than anything she’s written regarding her early beginnings.

I adore them both and its hard to compare because they're so different. I have to give the edge to Barbra in this case, though. Her version has more clarity, truth and emotion than Whitney's for me.
