Full price for basically a cosmetic update is absolute waste. Also why they don't offer buttcaps with trap door and no different grip shapes is a big NO for me. Companies are too stubborn these days... -.-
@jerome_morrow14 күн бұрын
Lack of a trapdoor is just unacceptable these days. Especially with the QC lottery.
@agradina14 күн бұрын
they dont make buttcaps because they dont alowed the foam to get exposed to air every time a noob want to open it.There is science behind racquets and integrity of racquets must be maintained so move ur preference to holow racquets if u wanted to open the buttcap.
@hybrid11theory7514 күн бұрын
@@agradina Never heard so much BS in a single comment... you have absolute no clue what you're talking about. "Because they don't allow the foam to be exposed" LMFAO, there are tons of other foam filled racquets with trap doors...
@jerome_morrow14 күн бұрын
@@agradina Wow! Who knew the internal foam of a TF racket is hermetically sealed off?! Those airtight grommets must have cost a fortune to develop. LMAO. Even so, it’s hardly a major slog to leave the bottom 1 inch of the hairpin hollow so that some rebalancing weight can be easily added. Incidentally, how does a TF pro-stock hairpin work if there’s no space in the handle for silicone?

Sounds exactly like what I am looking for which was a Blade 16x19 with more power. The head shape looks a little strangely not quite symmetrical which is something that I like o Wilson frames and will have to adjust to, but otherwise looks good. I can’t figure out for the life of me why Wilson or Head can’t make a modern control frame in a 98 head size with a bit more pop. It’s as if your choices are mutually exclusive: wet noodle control frame or power/spin frame at 100 square inches.
@Tennisnerd14 күн бұрын
Yeah, stiffer control racquets are my kind of jam, the RF01 from Wilson is good and the Radical MP is not bad in that respect either, to be fair.

great to see this! JUST got a used version of the last model OF the 315 cheaply in the meal, and i’m excited to try it out. coming from a pure aero 300 (weighted up to 340), which i like, but have always dreamed of playing a TF. loved my days with the pure aero 98, so i thought “for about $100 strung, why not?” thank you for all the content, but especially for pointing that the last iteration was also solid.

Hi , another great review ! my question is : best racquets for a heavy flat hitter ? (i like to play power shots but super flat , expecially with forehand) I've seen lots of rewiew and I think Dunlop Cx 400 tour 2021 (that has a denser string pattern in the sweetspot than 2024) might be the right choice . What do you think ? There are other racquets that i should consider in that range (98-100 sq.head, and 295-310g unstrung) ? I've seen also Head Gravity Mp XL but maybe is too low in stiffness
@vwmusicplaylist193514 күн бұрын
The extremely rectangular handle shape is a complete deal breaker irrespective of how good the racquet might be.

Another informative review! One question: at 4:10 you comment the mold seems the same as the last gen. If this one's constant beam is 21.7mm vs. the last one's 22mm, doesn't that suggest a new mold?
@Tennisnerd14 күн бұрын
I think sometimes they round of the beam measurements, but if there was a mold update, it must have been very slight, and there has been no mention of it from Tecnifibre or retailers. So it is minimal, if any.
@brandomaxwell14 күн бұрын
Yes, that makes sense. They wouldn't be the 1st racquet maker to do such rounding. And, PS, I dig how you ALWAYS get into the specs and how they combine to affect the feel on-court. Thanks!

I'm playing the older TF40 16x19 and obviously like it. But one issue I have to warn about is that the quality control for my four frames was quite a big issue. One was goldilocks, two were very light (fixable) and one was unplayable for me with a super high swingweight.
@Tennisnerd14 күн бұрын
Yeah, this is the issue with foam-filled racquets, swing weights can be all over the place.

How does this racket compare to the Solinco Whiteout 305 16x19? On paper, this is the closest thing I've seen to that racket. My Whiteout came in way overspec with a 340 swingweight, but I don't mind that at all. My biggest problem is the launch angle. Are there any issues with the launch angle on the new TF40s?
@Tennisnerd14 күн бұрын
I felt like the TF40 is similar in many ways, but I never felt betrayed by the string bed while I did notice some hot spots on the Whiteout...

Something that I think you should talk about when reviewing rackets is how easily the grommets are replaceable. A super important feature in my opinion
@Tennisnerd14 күн бұрын
Good point, and thanks to the eyelets, these racquets are joy to string
@raytrace201414 күн бұрын
Hight swingweights on stock frames are very problematic. If you get an overspec one it becomes basically unplayable and you can't fix it. Brands should give us low swingweight frames that we can add weight to. They could even supply lead tape and instructions on how to do it to make clear to consumers that you should tune the racquet to your taste.

Swingweights should be standardized to be lower stock due to quality control issues and customization purposes. Rarely do players nowadays use a racket and not customize to their specs.
