Got my ram ecodiesel in 2016 for under $40k. Great truck, for that price. Double that price, I think it’s a no brainer to step up to 2500. HD parts etc

I couldn’t agree with you more on the importance of having dual axles! In fact, IMHO single axles should be illegal on trailers due to the safety risks they present.

Great vid even with how long ago you produced it. I’m thinking of both styles. I like the Willy’s but your trim level is also a thought. Thanks

I'm in the market for a vehicle in this class. I REALLY like the little CX5. My biggest deterrent is the almost mandatory AWD. I live in Florida, and feel no need for AWD. I'd rather save the extra weight, added complexity, and cost, and just have a FWD version.

I am 73 and beginning to struggle with a 2 stage snow blower. Something to ride on would help. 250' gravel driveway, all downhill, we get a foot or more a few times a year in Maine. I think one of these would do the job for me. Thanks. (BTW, beautiful home/location you have there!)

I thought the same thing you did when these things came out. I was not interested. Now I'm shopping around for a used one. They look awesome with the right lift and tires under it. Yours is sweet! Great video! Your honesty is refreshing. ✌️🫶 😁

Well i just took home a 2021 gladiator landover for a test drive. I feel like it has a lot of cool factors, Is it common for some walking when your at 70mph. It has 33x12.5 tires. 20x12 wheel. It was almost enough to make me reconsider getting it.

I own a 2020 Gladiator and one thing I love about it that you didn't mention is Jeep is the only production vehicle that has a built in roll cage from the factory....and one thing I totally can't stand is that with those headlights....you absolutely can't drive it while it's snowing....the LEDs put out NO heat and with that "bowl" design....snow packs in there in a few miles and renders them useless....if it's snowing and dark outside......stay home....!!!!

You mentioned that this suspension is squishy and soft. Is The Rubicon Gladiator suspension a softer ride than the non-Rubicon Gladiators? I’m not looking to go off road. Mostly around town and highway. TIA

I have a second gen Ford Sort Trac Limitied 4x4 with the v8. I bought it for all the reasons you got a gladiator. But pushing 20 years old and limited aftermarket options its about time to move on. This is the leading contender at the moment.

The rear axles are a big point people miss also for these trucks. I believe all 3 truck manufacturers in the 90s used the Dana 80 on their 1-ton dually trucks only, leaving the 3/4-ton trucks with inferior pulling capability regardless of the powertrain. The AAM 11.5 was the first beefy axle that got put on 3/4 tons starting with GM's 2001 silverado HD 2500 and up. So with the 2001 LB7 you got the new duramax, the allison 5 speed, and the AAM 11.5 on a 3/4-ton truck. All you gotta do is change out the rear leaf springs to the fat ones used on the dually and you can make your 3/4 ton srw pull anything a dually can. It makes sense to do that nowadays considering you can get SRW wheels and tires that hold as much weight as the duallies used to.

You have to consider how much work you're willing to do yourself, and how comfortable you are with making upgrades to your truck. You can make a reliable tow rig out of any of the early 2000s trucks with just entry level upgrades and deletes. Prior to 2001, I'm selecting the 7.3 intercooled. After 2001, I'm going with an LB7 GM. The Cummins is a fine, fine engine... surrounded by wet toilet paper for a truck. I'll pass on that headache.

Just bought a brand new loaded '24 V8 level 2 for 52K. 28% off MSRP. Original price 72K. Sounds like most of your issues stem from opting for the diesel. The hemi truck has no problem with acceleration or reliability or maintenance.

This man is honest. 25 years of camper life. Had many. I paid 60 thousand dollars for the last one lacrosse . All are junk, and the warranty is a joke. It's sad. I dont mind paying a lot, but give me something that is going to not have leaking roofs and soft floors after 2 years. It's been 8 years now since i bought my house. I dont see myself ever fighting all that again especially when you are in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and something major happens.

I wish I had bought my low tech rust free 2007 RCSB new, but it is a rescue that I bought cheap in 2017 when it had 270,000 undocumented hard miles on it. To bring maintenance up to speed I performed what Toyota calls their 'Special Operating Conditions' service & maintenance plus the 120,000 mile service right away. I then began to modify the suspension to make it a sport truck, this included new wheels, tires, shocks, coil springs, the SOS Performance rear only leveling / lowering kit with air-lift bags, Alcan leaf springs and a Hellwig anti-roll bar. I freed up the exhaust with a custom SS cat back from Dirty Deeds, and installed a DAP tune. The truck is quick & fast. Repairs include: new OEM headlight housings, door checks, clock spring, fuel pump, steering wheel, drive shaft & output seal, belt moldings, drivers arm rest, drivers window & lifting mechanism, AC damper servo, I also had the bed sprayed with Line-X and installed Wet Okole set covers. Earlier this year the head gasket failed in cylinder #7 at 316,000 miles, this was caused by one or all three previous owners not flushing the cooling system as often as they should have. With the engine out of the truck and torn down for repair I discovered that the previous owners also ran the engine when it was low on oil, this caused cylinder wall scoring. I found a used 3UR FE with about 80,000 miles, I replaced the head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, seals, FIPG, timing components, a new starter & alternator plus a new cooling system... my rare '07 RCSB is ready to go another 300,000 miles and the cost of repairs was far less than the cost of replacing the truck with a newer Tundra loaded with electronics that will be a problem in the future. All of that being said, my current '02 V8 4x4 Tundra work truck and the '96 V6 4x4 T100 work truck that I had before it are better trucks overall.

I don't like that the drivers side A pillar is so massive, it blocks my view when navigating twisty roads and tight turns. The fuel economy and fuel capacity are better than what my '71 GTO convertible had, and that is what my '07 RCSB Tundra sport truck took the place of. I agree 100% that Toyota should have offered a mechanical LSD, because the electronic LSD sucks.

Great trucks... My 2007 is a 5.7L 4x2 SR5 regular cab short bed with 317,000 miles. I love the V8 power especially with a 4.30 rear gear (zero to 60 in 6), and the turning radius is incredibly tight. The interior uses more plastic than what I have in mt 2002 4.7L 4x4 regular cab long bed Tundra, and the '02 has a more cushioned & comfortable ride. I wish Toyota had never updated the Tundra, they should have just refined and improved the design that ran from 2007 to 2013.
