@@happyboitaranza9059 I engaged with him in good faith on the comment section and I don't think he is jealous, i think he is frustrated that people didn't "get the game" without understanding that they "didn't get it" because the game is written in a way that even if you did "get it" it is still bad. However he is clearly salty and he easily gets angry at the slightest thing which makes him an easy lolcow in progress.

I think the strongest implication you can draw from this is an oblique assertion that Smashers and twitchier gamers in general, a group RS is implicitly placing him/themself in by chosen name, have a tendency to simplify and “dumb” things down for ease of concise communication of a fast-paced match. The further implication is that someone who prefers shorthand and summation over accuracy and fealty to lore is going to inherently give bad criticism of what is essentially one of what is explicitly marketed as a post-modern narrative. And this dude is essentially correct - as an entertainment product combining irreverent humour with personal first-blush reactions to a weird piece of media, it is perfectly solid. And YiiK’s combat is terrible with a few redeeming qualities that are drowned out by the sludge, RS is not wrong there. But - his analysis of the narrative is wildly off the mark. He straight up doesn’t finish the game’s narrative. And his refusal or inability to use a post-modern lens on a game with the name of the genre/movement right in the frickin title makes his analysis make as much sense as someone criticizing Schindler’s List as a comedy. But on the other hand that Smashers bit is thirty-two minutes in and the actual react doesn’t begin until FORTY EIGHT MINUTES IN so fuck him
