Ive only seen one of these once when I was living in NJ. It was in a tree just singing its little heart out. I could have listened all day if it didn't fly away. I have yet to see one up in Maine.

I sometimes think the females are more gorgeous than the males. The one's that live in my yard are very timid. They come mostly at dawn and dusk.

I could watch this all day.

I love the way these little guys come zooming in to the feeder on my deck. They always announce their arrival, too. They crack me up! 😂

I have a pair of house fiches trying to nest in my front porch light which is identical to the one in the video. They tried doing it last year and abandoned the nest. I wish I took the lightbulb out as they're pretty cramped in there. I also hung a nest box near there under my front porch in the corner but nobody has bothered with it yet. Hopefully i'll get to see a successful brood. Thank you for your video!

I also put up a nest box but they always use the light fixture ;)

Love this whole video. I love when the last 2 little babies didnt really want to leave...how they looked at each other and kinda sadly then one decided to go for it. The last little one took his/her sweet time.

Leslie thank you so much for this video. It's a lot of work building a nest and making babies ❤. I have so many Finches here. They are one of my favorites. I love their sing. So melodic. They are busy building nests and making babies right now. Beautiful and awesome to watch.

How did the lil ones learn to fly, i really wanted to see that 😢. I hv a rescued sparrow with me. Im trying to teach her how to fly so that she can fly away in the sky or may to her parents
@BirdsWalkingDown5 күн бұрын
They don't need to be taught. We they get close to fledging, they start practicing by flapping. The parents encourage them to leave. You should be able to find a more expert opinion
