A 5 foot 2x4 piece of wood makes a perfect pry tool for removing rear springs. No damage and plenty of leverage. Also works in the front for getting the clearance for a (longer) coilover install. No jumping required.

I've driven my 2010 GX460 for 135,000 miles now, and only had a few minor problems. I get 17-18 mpg with mostly highway commuting at 70-mph. Once you get off the highway the mileage plummets quickly, though. My biggest complaint is the harsh ride (which you mention in a separate video), and a weak engine. That V8 just doesn't have enough torque for the weight of the vehicle. Even towing nothing it will downshift from 6 to 5 simply going over a highway overpass on cruise control at 70. It's very annoying. Putting the transmission into a "5-setting" and enduring the higher rpm's will help, but then you get a lot of engine noise. If they could solve those two problems it would be the perfect vehicle! Enjoy your videos, and your sarcastic humor.

I just found this video. My wife and I stayed at that same campsite in August ‘24. It was beautiful. The only real issue is the site is so popular online that others have no problem walking through the campsite to take pictures. Or even stay for lunch. We even had a local Community College group ask if they could give a short 15 minute lecture on the edge. They were all very polite and thanked us for allowing them to intrude. I have to say, there is an incredible amount of geological history in this area. And, it’s beautiful. Thank you for the video.

Thinking about going over thanksgiving weekend, should I consider a different time because of popularity?
@KLHintz20 күн бұрын
@@StraightGlitching We would definitely camp up there again. There are many sites along the rim (very close by) that probably have just as an amazing a view as that specific spot. I suspect, given the colder weather, that there may be quite a few less people there than when we were there in August. If you do go, you will definitely be greeted with spectacular views. Enjoy!

By the way i used to install car stereos for a living and believe it or not you do not need sound deadening on every inch of what your trying to insulate. The reason why is because one square inch will cover at least one sqinre inch all the way around it. A good example we used to do is put a one square inch piece on a counter bell( the kind you use to get the hostest attention at a hotel or where ever) and that sall pice would make the bell a " dead" it wouldnt "ping" anymore. Which is what your trying to accomplish with sound deadening meterial. Your just trying to make your metal surfaces not sound so tinny. So recap you dont need as much as you think you need . You could do it in a checkered patfern and achive the same results.

I love Cody. I don't believe he has an ego like so many claim, I believe he is a man confident in his abilities that wants people to grasp the seriousness of survival and wants them to realize you get it right or you die. This man has lived a life of survival nearly his entire life and he knows his knowledge and wisdom can keep people alive. It wasn't just a TV show to Cody, it was the lives of others in his hands. We need him back. Just him being on TV could save thousands of lives every year.

Hey great video! What are your tire specs for towing? Can you use regular stock tires or do you need upgraded load tires? Thanks!
@WastingTimeInTheWoods2 ай бұрын
We're running C-load KO2's. No special tires are needed for towing. Just ensure your tires meet the OE load rating or better, and you're good. Stock tires are fine. Have fun!

Why were you running transmission in DRIVE rather than S and locking out 5-6 on grades??
@WastingTimeInTheWoods3 ай бұрын
I didn't think of that, but I doubt it was ever in 5-6. It was screaming pretty good going up hills and pretty sure it was in 3-4. Downshifting wasn't a problem, it was just the power it took to drag that box up the hill.
