Im in Perth, Western Australia, and the price of a shopping centre store, even a tiny one, is unbelievably high. . Centres are empty but the finance on the centre is tied yo yhe rents charged, so they cant lower the rent to fill it up. Just insane.

I live in a town of less than 1,000 people - we have a Dollar General and a grocery store called Maynard's - Maynard's has really good sale prices that Dollar General can't compete with. I pick and choose what and where I buy - I usually let the sale prices determine what I eat and only buy stuff that I really like.

The Hunts pasta sauce is the same thing they use in Chef Boyardee canned pasta.

Dollar Tree has some funky stuff - I bought some shredded cheese and left it out for the stray cats. It was made with too much moldy cheese. I've actually worked at a Kraft cheese plant and immediately knew that they didn't clean the cheese. There is always a small percentage of bad cheese in the product.

I work in a grocery store shopping for industrial customers and have to watch prices and sizes down to the oz to make sure I'm grabbing or substituting the right thing and maintaining their budgets. It's so fkng miserable having to watch products cost more and get smaller every single day. And it's not just the name brand stuff even the most generic budget brands (Best Choice, Always Save, etc) are doing it. If you go into the store every week or so to grocery shop and think it's bad, it's worse than most people think.

The hunts oasta sauce is watery so a couple of things you must do...1) add Italian seasoning to it 2) mix with another sauce or tomato paste..3) reduce it in the pan. I buy it at yhe regular grocery store and mix with ragu. Herring isn't for the weak 🤣🤣 I've never heard anything great about herring fillets ever 🤣😂🤣😂 Lastly you overcooked the the 💩out of that shrimp 🍤 🦐 I couldn't imagine a whole community relying on Dollar Stores.

I rarely shop at dollar stores but there are a few things I consistently go there for. 1. Seeds for my garden. Normally 25 cents for a pack, and I never get through the whole pack. 2. Cards for birthdays. Only a dollar vs the $5 at most other places. Seasonal decorations. It's cheap crap, but so is the more expensive equivalent being sold elsewhere.

It's better to actually talk to people and stop giving your money to people that don't fucknig care, because if a person is not interested when they talk to you, the intermediate step is expensive and pointless.
