I have been on Zoloft for two weeks now after being super reluctant about medication. I'm also going to continue therapy which I have enjoyed so far. I had an appt with my doctor today to discuss side effects. So far I feel more calm but there are still short bursts of anxiety since it is pretty recent still. I was taking it at night and have had insomnia three times already so I was told to take it during lunch time since it does not make me feel drowsy. Also random heart palpitations but not often and loss of appetite, which I was told will come back. The emotional blunting bothered me at first but now I'm getting used to it. I went from feeling all my emotions way too much to feeling them in a stable way which now I appreciate. I have been able to change my routine and lifestyle but too many things are changing in my life which is great but it jut adds to the fire right now lol. I'm thankful to have asked for help.

Thank you so much for this video. I struggled with debilitating anxiety about 10 years ago. Went to therapy, went on Lorazepam and eventually I felt better and got off the medication. Now for the past couple of weeks I’ve been experiencing that same level of anxiety again. My doctor prescribed Zoloft and it took me a week to take 1/2 a pill of 25mg. I’m still not sure if I want to keep taking the Zoloft, but after watching this I’m realizing it’s just another tool to help me do the work. I know I’m not alone in this.

There is no "best SSRI", we all react differently. On the other hand, it is a fact that paroxetine/Paxil is the most potent SSRI on the market, unfortunately as it costs more side effects, but which means that the depression is affected and that it is difficult. Sertraline/Zoloft is perhaps a little too "kind". It is a more complicated dosage, where no one knows in advance whether 50/75 mg or up to 200 mg will be enough. And in the higher doses, it is the same "crap" in terms of effects as Paxil, Lexapro and the rest. But it's fun to find an SSRI that works for you. Be well!

I agree with what you're saying that medication should be the last resort. However Zoloft is so safe they even give it to pregnant women.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Untreated ptsd and generalized anxiety for years ( holding too much inside ) while coping with many life struggles brought physical issues & pain which in turn led to depression ...I am currently on zoloft, 2 and a half weeks from 25 to 75 mg now, wondering if it's going to make any difference... So far, I still feel terrified and depressed 24/7. My last resort I guess in order to get some relief and face my problems .But do you think it may take some more time to act? I know everyone has a different story but I would appreciate your answer 😊 Thanks!

Can you confront difficult situations now if you weren't able to in the past? I have essential tremor which worsened and worsened my fear and ability to face my fear to the point just like you I've decided to get on SSRIs as my last option, I don't know whether to go for Zoloft or Lexapro for maximum fearlessness while maintaining athleticism which one do you recommend?

I just switched from Paroxetine 20 mg to Sertraline, my new psychiatrist told me to start with 25 mg for week and then increase to 50mg, I was worried because when I took the 25 mg I felt a bit of anxiety coming back that the Paroxetine had controlled, I found your videos and they really helped me see things with a brighter light, I'm now positive that when I up to 50 mg I will feel a lot better, thank you for your videos. For those wondering I switched from Paroxetine to Sertraline because I was worried about the sexual side effects that Paroxetine cause and has a higher chance of causing than other SSRI's

@@evolvewithmarcello Thanks for answering, I wasn't expecting you to answer to a comment from a video that's 2 years old, I appreciate a lot your wishes and I am actively doing psychotherapy to work the sources, thankfully I am genuinely satisfied with my life and I think the source of my anxiety is medical concerns, since this all started with tight chest pain and a strong belief that I was having cardiological issues which led me to a level of anxiety that had to be worked with medication. I was diagnosed with Costochondritis and I'm positive that when I solve this issue I will be much better and maybe able to leave medication. I am also taking clonazepam and currently tapering off of it after using it for a month and some.

See the problem with that is I have hyper-sensitivity if I’m not distracted, If my brain focuses on eating food I over analyze until I find a texture, taste, or smell that I don’t like. It’ll ruin the whole meal because my brain will fixate on that sensation and ignore everything else, I call it “mush” because that’s what all food turns into. Same thing happens with overly sweet foods or drinks, it’s so overwhelming it makes me nauseous and all that combined has turned into an eating disorder. This is probably great advice for some people but dissociation is different for everybody, it’s good to remember people do the same things for different reasons. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, type of thing.
@evolvewithmarcello4 ай бұрын
Absolutely true that we all experience disassociation for different reasons, and in many different ways. If you’re open to it, my curiosity for you would be to explore where that hypersensitivity was born from so that you may be able to shift your experience of it, so that it doesn’t have that same impact on you anymore. Just a thought, who knows.. perhaps it could bring some essence of liberation. Much love to you brother! 🙏🏽🤍

@evolvewithmarcello while I understand the premise, and am interested in trying this sometime as an experiment on a good day when I'm feeling regulated, some of us autistic folks utilize distraction as an accomodation in overwhelming sensory environments. Eating can be one such situation.

So what have you done to help yourself not to feel like this, How were you able to move past this anxiety/agitation feeling?
@evolvewithmarcello5 ай бұрын
Hello Again Red Lilly 🤍 One of the most powerful steps I've taken to assist me in this is finding a safe unbiased space to share what my anxieties are, to get these things out of my head and share them in a place where I felt safe. In doing so, we not only feel a sense of support from another human or group of humans that are safe but we begin to unwind the mind at the same time by almost vomiting it all out. Lastly, we also breed an empowering self awareness when we can share in a safe space. In other words, an awareness of our own habits, patterns, conditioning that is ultimately looking to be let go of. How does this feel to you?

Thx for the great video today Marcello!! Really good points on the hydration, foods, sleep and compassion towards ourselves as we practice our way on this journey. I have a lot of changes to make. . Not so easy. Question: Re hydration. . How do we figure out how much water is enough each day, and do herbal teas count as hydration?? Thx! 💕
@evolvewithmarcello5 ай бұрын
I was extra happy to share this one with you today Elaine! Thank you for the kind words. 🤍 I’ve always followed a simple rule of drinking half our body weight in ounces. It might sound a bit odd but we are 70% water! So we need a good amount of water to keep the system groovin’. I will also add to this by saying that I have I have learned what hydration feels like in my body versus what dehydration feels like in my body. Sometimes a simple headache, a pasty mouth, or just simple fatigue remind me that I need to drink more. An easy practice to begin living more hydrated is just commit to drinking one glass of water when you wake up, maybe for a week or two and see how you feel. Also, tea is most definitely a lovely way to take down water. Not to mention, tea is packed with flavor for emotional satisfaction, and so many benefits within the herbs themselves. Happy Hydrating 🤍💧
