Guns shows are filled with 3 types of people - Fudds, Suckers, and scammy dealers there to take advantage of the former 2 types. You can find everything and more online for a better price.

I’ve bought bull ammo by the thousands from professional reloading sources amd never had a problem. Norinco 9mm back in the 86-92 area had some double strike rounds. I’ve bought everything available and yes I had one M1 Garand from an old collector and somebody had parkerized the gun again and parkerized the chamber. It never would function and polishing a chamber thru parkerization is not able to be worn thru.

Every gunshow that I have visited ( hundreds in the Dallas, Tx. area) How come every dealer with a table stops every person trying to sell something so that they can lowball them and waste their time. They don’t seem to be worried about quality, only a low price.

I intimately and wholefully believe beef jerky is as 2A related as knives, med kits, and binoculars are.

Went to 2 gun shows this year and they both sucked! No one wanted to take trade ins, only wanted to sell their overpriced firearms!

Why waste time and money going to a gun show when you can order online? Or go to your local gun store?

I have bought tons of ammo at gun shows and when the prices went sky high I stopped. I saw to many pickups selling guns off the tail gate. A work buddy bought a 357 revolver and went deer hunting and had a local sherif ask to see the gun which he saw the serial number and it was stolen so he got arrested

Recently went to my first gun show and I can't imagine why anyone would buy ammo there, a vast majority of it was a solid 10-15% more expensive than what I can get online. Reloaded 5.56 for $0.50 a round when I can get it online free shipping for like $0.43 a round.

I knew it was going to be a bust..... To fuckin heavy..... Price for ammo is fuckin high as Bob Marley..... Awesome ballistics but the price of the ammo was horrible.

What about a flea market area away from the main trade floor where people can sell the snacks, knick nacks, and clothing? It gives the women and children something to look at without mixing that stuff in with the guns.
@paullee40429 күн бұрын
M4 converted to 6.5 grendel or 6arc would attain terminal ballistics required , weight is about the same, cost less and work in urban fighting.

The last gun show I went to, a lady dealer shot herself in the hand as I was going in. That was interesting, but I found a perfect 1st Gen Kimber 1911 which I had been in search of so it was a good day (except for the lady with the bleeding hand).

the fact that he is using a 1:9 barrel for long range and is still connecting those shots is awesome

Its cheaper to buy from a store, than it is from a gun show these days, every old fat white guy thinks they have GOLD. However I will buy the Jerky,

I traded an sks for a rock river arms ar15 at a gun show. It was practically new. When i went to the range, it wouldn't cycle. Come to find out, the roll pin holding the gas tube in was missing, the flash hider was hand tight, the gas block was loose. The barrel shroud also wasnt quite lined up and wasnt orginal to the gun. I dont know what the story is but id guess the pervous owner changed the barrel shroud and didnt know how to shim the nut to line up so they gave up on it. 10 dollars on a shim kit and a roll pin later and the gun performs flawlessly. Overall i think i came out ahead on the trade but ill be way more careful at gun shows in the future.

Until appr. 2010 most of the Gun Shows in the Maritimes were attended by the same familiar group of professiona and very knowlegable seller/collectors. And each area had a cadre of local sellers and collectors who rented a table at their local show. Prices were reasonable to exceptional. One could chat with each seller and learn. Often aquirering much knowle. COVID accelerated a growing trend to ever higher prices and ever more dodgy sellers... Times have certainly changed. Those Shows were sponsored by local Legions or Firearm Clubs... all of whom had people knowledgable and who were often gunsmiths...
