You ROCK! I stumbled upon your Paddling Out Like a Pro vid (started learning to surf at 60 and SUP surf last year at 62!) which led me to your Overcoming Anxiety vid! I still struggle with anxiety going out (near drowning experience as a child) so I always tune in with the Kundalini Adi Mantra, followed by the protection mantra, Mangala Charan. Then I recite the intentions I use when doing energy healing for someone before I go out so the idea of asking for permission totally resonates with me! Thank you for putting yourself out here! Sat nam! Victoria PS. My almost 65 y/o hubby SUP surfs, foils, and wing foils so I sent him your KZbin channel!

That's the difference between wind sports and surfing. After a wind sport session everyone's all smiles and hanging out and friendly to each other. After surfing and during surfing it's heads down and alpha intimidation tactics. Never made a friend from surfing except those I was already friends with, 20 + years surfing. Made some of the best friends of my life in the 25 + years of windsurfing. And yet surfing is seen as the Aloha vibe...go figure.

I find it hard to control the pitch on my Wing foil . I have a Armstrong ma1475 foil ,70cm fuse and a 232 stab . I try to put as small inputs as possible and is ultra sensitive. Everyone on the water is solid the pitch and board height is just locked on. I look ahead that has helped and tried feet close together . Can not work it out.

30 foot swell? Not here LOL. Love the positivity. This wave is a strange mistress. It gives the initial appearance of awesomeness and then reveals its true self. It gives you one tiny taste and lets you down. It’s the nitrous oxide of waves. You know it would be cool is if somebody like Patagonia created an artificial reef to make the wave a bit better! They did this before in Southern California.

Hi John ! I'm using also the 1150 with a 72cm mast. Homemade DW supfoil (8'4x19''- 120lit) . Quite happy with my gear. Are you using the 72 or the 86cm mast ? How much board volume ? (and weight). Thanks.

Great footage and I appreciate the deep thoughts. On the same race course with the same start, any thoughts on how Johny or other top local Wingfoilers would do as far as placing vs. similar skilled Windfoilers? Would a different course " triangle or upwind downwind buoys" be faster on a Wing vs Windsurf sail foil setup? Would a different wind "like 10 / 20 / 30 mph of wind" favor a Wingfoil or a Windfoil setup for a high level rider? I had the midset that if I was in the mood for fun I would go Wingfoil. If I wanted to go fast, log lots of miles or be efficient on an upwind downwind course "still lots of fun" I would Windfoil or Long Board Raceboard Windsurf. I wonder if Wingfoiling is now smarter for specific performance focused goals? Thanks for any feadback or advice! 😊

How fast is fast? I wanted to watch the whole vid in case you mentioned it but blahblahblah. How many knots do wing foilers go? Windsurfers without foils do 60 or so.
