Love your work..excited to see this swap. I’m sorry that it happened, but honestly I’m ready to watch you work your magic on the 300 engine since I have the same engine in my 22 rxp. I have plenty of questions about upgrades but will save that for another day. Best wishes and can’t wait

I just followed this procedure on my 2021 GTX 170 . I had the bearing fall out of the PTO bellow. I was able to get everything all back together, but where the driveshaft goes into the PTO bearing, its like its not in all the way because the telltale mark on the shaft is visable. In the manual it says that if the telltale is visable, its put together wrong. I cant get the driveshaft to push into the PTO any further, and it appears the PTO bearing is located back in the correct spot in the bellow. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong? Thanks in advance.

@@MrRay3801 the issue is that you didn’t use the PTO bearing holder. So when you pushed the driveshaft in, the o rings in the PTO bearing around able to slide easily over the shaft and the bearing is pushed back. Try pulling on the bearing to get it to move closer to the rear of the hull.

@@SaltyDogPerformance Thanks man, I was able to get the bearing to pull back towards the rear of the machine enough to cover up the telltale groove. Thanks for the response. Going to order the PTO bearing holder now to have it on hand for the next time!

Great detailed video! Do you know if this works on 2024 RXT-X 325? I was disappointed to find out my new machine does not display the lake temperature even though I read the owner's manual before I bought it and it says it did.

@@TonyVielguth Putting on a 255/260 hp supercharger, 42lb injectors, tune, 15/20 impeller, and external intercooler got the most bang for the buck

What's the best or easiest way to remove a stainless steel pump liner? All videos online shows removing the plastic pump liners.....

@@jameswinston7593 honestly, once those stainless steel wear rings go in the pump housing, it’s damn near impossible to get out. If I have someone wanting me to remove one, I turn them away and tell them to buy a new pump housing and build a new pump

I pulled the driveshaft out for the first time on my 2nd hand '21 GTI 170SE and the rear PTO bearing pulled out of its rubber boot and oetiker clamp at the same time. I was not expecting that at all.

@@asdfqwerty1889 that’s because your shaft had a little rust on it and jammed the bearing onto the shaft. Next time tap the bearing a little with a 3/8” extension bar and a hammer towards the engine to ensure it moves freely on the shaft.

Hey i watched your video, you mentioned you had a through hull exhaust. Is there anyway you could do a video on it? I am on the fence about doing a rear exit with resonator delete on my 2008 speedster 150 215 hp Because I find the factory exhaust isn’t loud in terms of sound output but it is sort of buzzy im assuming because of the stock tunnel exit location. Id love to hear what yours sounds like and see how you did it as well as what your impressions over all are. I want something that sounds good but isnt annoying and id love some imput before i take a hole saw to the back of my hull. Thanks in advance!

@@alisonrahn9873 depends on how well you clean your jet pump area. The driveshaft has a teflon coating on the end of it where is spins inside the seals. That part will start to rust and the teflon coating crack. That will wear out the seals and then allow water to get in. I’ve seen some only last a year. Some last a few. All comes down to cleaning

The major air restriction on these units is from the lack of ventilation at the hull not the OEM air intake. They all run faster with the seat off. I would like to see mods where the ski is the same speed with the seat as without.

@@billy-bo-dilly yes they need more ventilation however more ventilation means more salt contamination. I built a ram air system to force air at the rear air intake on my 300. There’s so much salt in the air that it would collect deposits all over the air intake filter and inside the engine bay.

I got a is38 cts turbo, out of warranty and 6k mi later it is leaking oil from turbo seals. Im now eondering if its escaping from where the bead of sealant is. Was considering just buying a new turbine core and installing but now i may try to just reseal it

Awesome video! Doing this now on rxtx 325 with Solas impeller. My nose cone barely had any grease from factory, not even 1/4 full. Just to clarify, you're saying to not use the green cone that comes with the Solas, the stock is better? Wondering why and also if I should fill my bearing and the black cone fully with xps grease? @@rg9580 you grease the splines on the driveshaft heavily. The factory impeller boot is better because it doesn’t corrode and seals better to protect the grease.

If you install the seals first and fill the cavity under the pump bearing with grease it will force lubricate and purge the new bearing with fresh OEM grease. Notice the different color of the new bearing lube in the bearing and the seadoo pump grease. There will also be no voids for water to easily seep in. Nice job on the video and wisely packing the seals with grease.

@@SaltyDogPerformance, Lots of ways to skin a cat and it's now the way I do it now. Try it I think you will like how the grease pushes through the bearing. I do not like mixing different types of grease in a critical item known to have a high failure rate and have actually gone so far as cleaning new bearings then hand pack with seadoo lube before installation. You did it differently than I do.
