Public transport is only decent at best in the cities. Public transport between the cities, regions, .... different parts of the country are abysmal at best... Railways are falling apart due to decades of negligence, bus transport is bad as it goes.... Hardly a very good public transport overall.....

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING... If you live outside of the US, Don't have a job in the US, then you don't have to pay US taxes? I wished you would of explained why you still have to pay taxes even though you haven't lived in California, USA in many many years? Can Customs stop you from entering the US, if you ever decided to visit or move back to the US?

Si svetová! ❤👏🏻 Hut ab for your effort and strength, willingness to learn!:)) I am Slovak (also Slovensko in Slovak, as Slovensko in Slovenski jezik - in Slovak, it is Slovenský jazyk😂 crazy, right?)... Slovak is considered to be a Slavic esperanto:) I can say for myself and many others that we have usually no problem to understand other Slavs, Slovenes included and maybe, except Czechs -Slovenščina is the 2nd language I understand the best after Czech:)) without learning a bit... :) Keep on! You do really great! And I could understand you, not reading the subtitles! 😊👏🏻❤️ Come visit us one day! Želim Ti lep dan! Pozdravujem zo Slovenska! ❤

Is Slovenia racist or just against the elderly? I wonder why you give no dignity to someone older than you or handicapped. If you live long enough, maybe you will like this discrimination.

Im 46 and have been in a relationship with a beautiful Slovenian woman going on 5 years. I completely relate to the communication aspect. Slovenians are unique in they really care about what you're really saying and express real interest. Where Americans say things to just be polite. I really relate to you and your relationship. Im so glad you have such an amazing family wishing you all the best from. Sunny Northern California

Yeah, coworker from USA saying "hey, how are you" and then walking away doesn't really show that they cared about me or other coworkers in the room. But yeah, in SOME cases USA people actually listen after they ask "how are you?"

Croatian Taxes are rather easy....they either send you a bill if you are due for something or missed something or they send you a information that you can expect tax return on your account number. And that's the end of it.

Ow the Šmarna! I've been there in December last year after some years. I love that spot. I live about 60km north and there's a lot of great hiking spots over here, but whenever I go to Ljubljana for various reasons I try to find the time to re-visit Šmarna :3 Very short, but sweet.

Yeah I would assume Slovenian is pretty hard to learn if you're an English speaker. For a long time I thought Slovene was a really hard language to learn until I watched a video from the KZbinr "Living Ironically In Europe" about learning Hungarian. Now that is a hard language to learn. :D Like I get that Slavic languages are pretty different from Germanic or Latin, but wait until you see how Hungarians do their Hungarian :D

Dear Ms. Mariah, I trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I loved your video presentation and its content. I am reaching out with great enthusiasm about the possibility of collaborating on a new clothing collection. My ambition is to transform technical drawings into tangible, high-quality garments, and I believe your expertise in fabric selection and design could be invaluable in bringing this vision to life. I would be deeply grateful if we could discuss how you might assist me in this creative endeavor. Looking forward to the opportunity of working together. Warmest regards, Osman

You needn't to go from California to Bahamas or Washington DC to go as far as most Slovenes go. Most Slovenes go on vacation in neighbouring Croatia, many people spend vacation even in Slovenia itself, travel is mostly less than distance between San Francisco and Los Angeles in California. But the vacations on the sea in Croatia are awesome.

You just need to try European Edible Dormouse (Glis glis). Is is hunted and eaten traditionally here in Slovenia since Roman times or even earlier. Romans even bred them for food in terracotta pots called Glirarium. It has gamey and nutty taste and is best prepared fried on butter or cooked in goulash. Its fat is full of nutrients and is very good for treating small wounds, skin rashes and does not solidify in freezer.

I totally get you about the language. As a Slovenian I speek english and german. And since we learn english already in primary school it is not that hard. However, when I learned german it was quite challenging, especially because of the dialects. And my knowledge of foreign language depends on how I feel that day... But don't worry, if you wish to learn just speak and try. But I can understand that it is (much) difficult as english, especialy with dual, cases, ... After 4 years since you uploaded this video I would say you are much better 😉

For a part I was of the opinion you are just making some things up. But. let's go step by step. "Morsko sadje" is actually called "Morski sadeži" which translates to something like "fruits of the sea." It is basically a sort of salad made from shellfish, squid, octopus mixed with vinaigrette (oil. vinegar, salt, pepper). And this sallad is not a national dish, t just something people eat because they like it. Jabolčni zavitek.. no comment there. Cake also is not a Slovenian national foot/desert. You just had some badly made cake. That waxy filling is probably margarine based. An abomination. Don't give up on cakes. Segedin does not contain potatoes, nor beans or ham. What you are describing is Jota. Segedin is made with pork meat and sauerkraut. There is also dish made from fermented turnip called kisla repa, and variations thereof. But there are other dishes similar to segedin, not Slovenian by origin but widely prepared. Sarma comes to mind. Zaseka is made from pork belly fat which is thermally treated, i.e. lightly baked in oven, ground and seasoned with mostly slat, perhaps some garlic and onion and then, yea, actually used as bread spread. Under no circumstances is zaseka made from molten lard. But molten (and solidified) lard is actually used for cooking as it gives it's flavor. Štruklji. no comment there. Depending on the filling, with skuta it can be side dish, and filled with walnuts or figs can be a desert.

I actaully do not feel tax filing is demanding here in Slovenia. If you have a regular job everything is done automatically and you get only a paper from the FURS (IRS) to see if everything is okay. If you have other incomes like rents you just fill the form online till end of february for the previous year. If you have a small business you do have a few options to pay taxes.

For US citizens, join the rich. They pay no taxes, and have the best accountants money can buy. There is no law that mandates you do it. Tax on income was always voluntary, yet government enforces it through "voluntary compliance". Some of you can argue this to no end. I encourage you to do your own research.
