Maybe due to the war and the fish being exposed to extreme chemicals caused pearl do have birth defect while still being in the womb of her own mother. Which explains why she was born more evolved since being exposed to chemicals in the womb. And to also prove that Ms.Puff is using Mr.Krabs for his money becuase she was clearly cheating on him with the robber meanwhile still being in a relationship with Mr.Krabs.

Goofy Goober is made to be a cult by the producers of the (in universe) show in order to keep SpongeBob as a kid so that the show can go on. The humans used real world examples of cults to indoctrinate Sponegebob and Patrick (along with others). Goofy Goobers is a cult, but a fake one that uses real tactics. Kinda like if they added a cult to the Truman show.
