I literally drunk up all of the books, but the first movie is GOLDEN. There"s something about the way it looks and the music that just takes it to another level. I watch it everytime I can and I'm 43 years old 😅

Just a really boring, unscary fuckin movie. Enjoying your videos, though.

This is an interesting take because it articulates a sentiment that keeps coming up which is when I talk about how disturbing his rhetoric and tactics are, I feel the need to pause and qualify it. Example: "the Springfield pet-eating narrative is straight up n@zi shit, and he knows it,,,, or at least,,, he's surrounding himself with people that know it." Like, its so hard to definitively say he has any beliefs beyond vanity and power.

He's not a narcissist either. He's got Hstrionic Personality Disorder. Look it up - it fits perfectly, and helps to explain his incredible behaviours.

Hey I only got around to watching this video a couple of days ago, having discovered your channel recently and having a great time working my way back through your archive! Love your stuff. Anyway, crazy bit of synchronicity: I've just watched the new TV show The Listeners (on BBC iPlayer in the UK) and it only goes and refers to Bataille and the Chinese torture photos! You wait your whole life for a reference to Georges Bataille's philosophy of transcendence and the shattering of the body's physical limits, and then two come along at once!

I think the old version is also doing something kind of revolutionary where it sits in its own genre, it's not like Alien, or a haunting story, but sits somewhere between the two and has a really tight and isolated set. The new version just rehashes perfection and not as well.

Bollocks, CGI has a lot to do with it. Not everything but I serious amount of what's wrong with it.

i still stand by it being a pretty decent trilogy and you should just skip the last two. i don't disagree with anything you said particularly, i just had more fun with those movies than you did, i guess?

When I was younger, I always thought of some greater purpose to it all, why things happen the way they do, but I never questioned the nature. To simply be, was my answer. Put with state of neutrality being the answer, the more I began to appreciate the beautiful things around me, as if what's supposed to be the ultimate creation in the end is what was in front of me the entire time. When you talked about the nice turtoise, that fragile looking goblin or whatever, and those quiet moments in life, it reminded me about that life lesson.
