It all looked pretty good to me Drew!... But you'll find that the main reason that many UK products need extra Salt & Sugar these days... Is that a few years ago... The UK Government decided to limit the amount of Salt & Sugar allowed in the ingredients listed on all food products... And so food manufacturers had to drastically alter the recopies of all their products to avoid increased taxes... Which would be levied on all products high in Salt & Sugar... So now because of that Government legislation... Most British foods... Will now have to be seasoned by the purchaser... Simply to allow us all to reach a level that each customer personally desires... By the way... I left you an easy recipe for making from scratch... Your own Home Made Yorkshire Puddings on your previous video Drew... 👍 Many thanks for the video... It's very much appreciated... All the very best... Cheers.🍺

I honestly think that it is better to reduce the sugar and salt and let me add it if I want. So, I'm not opposed to that regulation. It seems that England regulates a lot more than the US, and when it comes to food, that might be a good thing! Oh, I'll go get the recipe!! Thanks for your lovely comment. You're the best!!!

one thing i do notice about all the US youtubers trying to make british food is that they forget in the day every house hold in the UK had a salt and pepper shakers and a bottle of vinegar at the dinner table... fried bread is made with full english not toast, the bread is buttered both sides and fried both sides. .. also black pudding... mushrooms... not forgtting a cup of tea with it.

Hi Drew... Yes we do sometimes have Curry inside of Yorkshire Puddings... But it's not super common though... Barry Lewis tried it several years ago... And he loved Curry inside of a Giant Yorkshire Pudding... Others sometimes fill the smaller Yorkshire Puddings with Grated Cheese... Once they've been heated through... Before going back in the Air Fryer for sixty seconds simply to melt the Cheese until it's gone all gooey... 🧀😋 You made a great effort though... In trying to use up all of the leftover food you had in the house. There are lots of videos out there online... With tips and ideas of how to make the most of your food leftovers... One of my absolute favourites is making Bubble & Squeak... By frying the leftover Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes from a Sunday Roast Dinner... Delicious!... 😋 Anyway Drew... How are you getting along with your cutlery skills at the moment?... Remember to stick with it and keep up the practice... You'll soon get the hang of it... 👌Many thanks for the video Drew... All the very best... Cheers. 🍺

Thanks for the lovely comment! Maybe this week, we will go buy some more Yorkshire puddings (or maybe I should dare try to make them from scratch...) for the Christmas season, and we do actually have cheese in the house right now so I'm thinking you might be right. With he crispy Yorkshire pudding 🤤🤤 Well, we have moved houses and I haven't been eating anything that requires a fork and knife haha, but I have thought about it if that counts 😂 I might film today and make something specifically for that! Or I should eat my baked beans and toast (which I have all the time now, yum) like y'all do. In my cooking British food video and in transforming leftovers, I made bubble and squeak and another fried potato, so I couldn't do it for a 3rd time... Although tempting!! Hope you're having a wonderful day! 😊

@@ThisIsDrewFerguson Ah! right... I'll have to go back and take a look at a few of your previous cooking videos... And at least watch the Bubble & Squeak one to see how you got on with it... 👌 And don't worry about making anything special to practice your cutlery skills... Just practice when you can... 👍 I'm from Yorkshire myself... And we always used to make our own Yorkshire Puddings from scratch... They're pretty easy to make... As long as you remember a few basic rules Drew... Firstly... You don't need to measure out any of the main ingredients... All you need to remember is... You'll require equal amounts of... Whole Milk... Fresh Eggs... And Plain Flour... So into a mixing bowl or a large Clear Pyrex Measuring Jug... Add a cup full of Plain Flour... A cup full of Milk... And a cup full of Fresh Eggs... And if you don't have enough of any of the three ingredients required... Then adjust the other two ingredients to the exact same level as your lowest ingredient amount... The second important thing to remember is this... When mixing your Yorkshire Pudding Batter... You must whisk it vigorously to remove any lumps from the Batter and aerate it slightly... Once it's gone smooth... You must let it rest and cover it with a plate in the fridge... Ideally the Batter should be left to rest overnight... But if you don't have the time... It will need resting in the fridge for minimally one hour. Once it's been fully rested... You'll need either a large roasting pan (for one very large Yorkshire Pudding)... Or a Yorkshire Pudding Tin (AKA a Muffin Tin) (for individual Yorkshire Puddings)... Just like the smaller frozen shop bought version that you tried in yesterdays video Drew... You must turn your oven up to it's maximum temperature in preparation for heating up the Lard or your Beef Dripping (which is traditional)... As Beef Dripping is usually collected from the Beef Joint roasting tin from the previous Sundays Roast Dinner... Before being poured into a cup or mug to cool... And placing it in the fridge to set... So it's all ready for the following Sundays Yorkshire Puddings... Each individual compartment in a Yorkshire Pudding tin... Must have approximately two Teaspoons of Beef Dripping placed into each of the compartments... Before the Yorkshire Pudding tin goes onto the top shelf of your very hot oven... Once you see the melted Beef Dripping producing "Blue Smoke" after about ten minutes... The Beef Dripping is hot enough to now pour in your rested Yorkshire Pudding Batter... Each compartment will need filling to about half way up each individual compartment... This will need to be done without any delay... Otherwise the hot melted Beef Drippings temperature... Will start to drop once the cooler Yorkshire Pudding Batter is poured into them all. Once all twelve compartments have been filled halfway... You must return the tin to the top shelf... Also remembering to leave enough room for them to rise a few inches... Then close the oven door and make sure your oven is set to a temperature of 225°C/425°F/Gas Mark 9... For 25 Minutes... No more... No less... Exactly 25 Minutes Drew... And you must never be tempted to open the oven door to take a look either... As this can prevent the Yorkshire Puddings from rising properly... If you use an oven with a glass viewing window in the oven door... You can keep an eye on your Yorkshire Puddings progress through there... But if your oven door hasn't got a viewing window... Please don't be tempted to open the oven door... Trust in the 25 minute rule... Set a timer on your mobile phone for 25 minutes... And once the timer alerts you to the fact that your Yorkshire Puddings are now fully cooked... Firstly turn off your oven... Open the oven door and with oven gloves... Remove the tin of freshly cooked Yorkshire Puddings... Remove them immediately from the tin to prevent them from sticking once they start to cool down... Place them all on a wire baking rack to stand before being plated up onto a Sunday Roast Dinner... Or letting them completely cool... And ready to be placed into a large freezer bag... And freezing in your own freezer for use at a later date... For when you'll require them... Sorry about the long reply... I hope that some of it was of at least of some use to you Drew... All the very best... Cheers. 🍺

The toast dilemma... There really is no right and wrong, just preference. Some people butter their toast, some do not. Most use margarine these days, but others insist butter or nothing at all for them. Unbuttered to soak up the baked bean sauce, if that's what floats your boat. Brown, white, multigrain? again, it's preference. Eat the toast the way you prefer, as The Full English is the best comfort, hearty breakfast in the world as far as I'm concerned, so eat it the way that makes you happiest. FYI, eat toast by hand, or with a knife and fork, whatever you feel most comfortable doing. Many will pile stuff onto it and then pick it up to eat for more control over the pile on their toast, just not a good idea when you have beans on though ;) People will tell you what's right and wrong, but all over the UK people eat the same food in different ways and when a regional food takes hold we give it that area name to distinguish it from others of its ilk eg. Cornish Pasty, Cumberland Sausage, Cheddar Cheese. But "tradition" is what you make it and you generally just copy what you've been shown, so there really is no "right" way to make/eat a full English, but it's generally fried, as grilled is a relatively new "healthier" option of stuffing your face full of heavily processed meats lol, and the ingredients are the same whether you use them all or not. It is an English breakfast with component parts of 3 or more. It is only a "full" English when you have everything on the list in one go. Many will tell you to add Brown Sauce (HP sauce) to make it traditional, others insist on tomato ketchup. These "traditional" sauces are recently added dressings that started from the common cafe versions of The Full English, and are not essential to make the Full English breakfast authentic. I do like a bit of brown sauce myself, but many do not. I have a tradition of frying my bread, not toasting it, in the bacon fat which I also cook the mushrooms alongside separately from the rest of the ingredients as a flavoursome base for my soft fried eggs (over easy) that sits on top. Now, I dare anyone tell me that I'm doing it all wrong, when I have the best taste experience eating my Full English, and I'll tell them what bridge to go jump off lol Bubble and squeak. Bind it with egg. Good first try with the knife and fork. It takes time and a bit of practice, but you'll get it :)

That wasn't a full English. A full English also has bacon, black pudding, fried bread as well as the toast. A nice inclusion is bubble and squeak. Had to stop watching after you started trying to fry frozen sausages, in a dry pan. Sorry but it really boils my piss when Americans say things like "today I'm going to cook blabla but I don't have all the ingredients and I have no idea what I'm doing", and then they produce something cringeworthy that is nothing like what it should be. Awful. Please stop insulting our food. Do some research, buy the ingredients, take advice on how to cook them properly. Ideally, be at least able to cook, at all, in the first place. It's not difficult.

Probably get black pudding in a butchers shop. Also, any larger supermarket probably has it. Just get a small amount to try. In the UK, many foods are designed to be healthier than the USA. Far less fat, sugar, and often salt and preservatives. That's why our shelf life is less than in the USA.. Sausages mandatorily have the meat content shown on the pack and the fat content. You do need fat, but not too much, or you will likely have health problems in later life. Take care what you eat.

As a child of the 60s/70s Heinz was the _only_ acceptable baked beans. Our Mum tried others, but HP and 'own brand' were dreadful. However, Branston beans were a game changer. Since their 'deluge' of the market, I'm a Branston convert. I like brown sauce on a 'Full English', even a splash on my beans. I 'bake' my sausages in the oven (180℃ fan, 25-30m, turning once) to brown them all over, and remove more fat. Fully cooked sausages are pretty good later the same day, or even breakfast, warm with 30-40 seconds in the microwave, split lengthways, add mustard or brown sauce, to make a sandwich. To be fair, even a few supermarket own brand baked beans I've experimentally tried this century are better than in childhood. Branston pickle, tomato, or sauerkraut are good with cold pork pie. Their slight sharpness complemens the richness of the pie. I don't like English mustard. I prefer milder Dijon mustard with sausages and pork pies. I replaced "Pan Yan" with Branston pickle, and Hammond's 'Chop' with Branston's 'Fruity' brown sauce, decades ago. I'm not an HP fan. Margarine on toast is acceptable with a 'Full English', but some margarines include odd ingredients, so I stick with butter. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 🎅🎉 ☮

Well done!! _Edit: I should add, I have had warm pork pies; they were freshly made, still warm, in the butchers shop. I love roast Brussels sprouts, parsnips and carrots. I microwave them for a ½minute or more to get them warm throughout; they roast quicker. Brussels are good roasted with added finely chopped streaky bacon which adds a little fat, and extra savouriness. Best Wishes. ☮

Choosing sausage can be a minefield - in general you are much better going to a traditional butcher than the mundane supermarket ones. Most butchers have their own seasonings, herbs etc and these can be absolutely fabulous on a muffin (English Muffin - not the American cake)and perhaps brown sauce if you like. Brownie points for trying to use a knife & fork properly - methinks you need a bit more practice. It's really difficult for none natives to make a proper judgement on British food because it depends so much on the quality of the ingredients and of course how you cook them.

Pork pie was designed as a luncheon snack to be eaten cold. Great with HP sauce. Heated its mostly eaten with mushy peas and a little dash of mint sauce. Makes it much nicer. Dont ever heat pastry in a micro wave, it will make the pastry soft and unedifying. Use the oven then it will remain crispy. But do remember the pie is already cooked. One thing thats really important, grill if you dont want to use fat and remember seasoning, salt and pepper is pretty much essential. If you want taste.

The key ingredient which is thick cut dry cured unsmoked bacon. You need to prick your sausages to allow the fat out, and a little oil if you are frying. Personally, i always grill the bacon and the sausages. Its healthier. You need to season the tomatoe with salt and pepper, plus you need to add mushrooms, fried with a little olive oil and butter. Its a must to butter your toast and add a final slice of black pudding. You are not far off with the knife snd fork, dont be afraid to reverse the fork if and use it like a spoon if necessay.enjoy
