6:30 it’s basically a build up phase with 4-2-2-2 and then reverse to old conte ways by dropping the 6 in between 4&5 which means back to 352. Good adaptations

Another reason De Zerbi faced challenges last season was the departure of key players like Mac Allister and Caicedo-quality talents who have yet to be replaced. De Zerbi's departure from Brighton was reportedly influenced by frustrations with their transfer and recruitment process, as the club operates more as a "shopping centre" in the Premier League, mostly selling talent rather than building on it. Despite struggles from teams like Manchester United, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and even Manchester City this season, Brighton has failed to capitalize on the opportunity..

When the outside players don’t create back pressure and are on the wrong side of the ball defensively. They will hang their teammates out to dry. Bad formation for young teams.

football is a simple game , you need to know how to make accurate passes , mark with energy , defend with energy , outsmart your oppponent with energy . Our players arent modern day footballers , they dont follow instructions , this system doesnt allow you to lose the ball so often , if you do so you will be quickly exposed ...we rush to make hollywood passes instead of frustrating the opponent

the whole idea of being so positional. building with 3 at back and passing to fullback and then looking for overlap run from one of the midfielders or striker is simply not working. Premier league players are either destroying the wing backs with their pressing or they are intelligent and sit back and prevent any overlaps with better tracking than that was at Portugal. I see no forward passes or dribbles from this build up from back. To be honest I think Solskjaer was the last manager who was at bit fluid and did know how to get best out of players. ETH was a downgrade and Amorim tactics looks good only on paper. Premier league needs more adaptable and fluid tactics. Wish we gave a shot to RVN

Man I wish my local club coaches watched your videos! My biggest complaint in America is the lack of tactics. Our kids aren't learning any tactics at the local level where I live. It's so frustrating! Keep up the good work

Roma's Spalletti from 2005-2009 era are the best team who played it with Totti false 9 up front and Perrotta behind him as a shadow striker plus Mancini and Taddei as inverted wingers was a spectacle to watch

I definitely won't get noticed but I'm a really big fan of a specific formation and how it works but I really need opinions about it. What are your thoughts with the 4-3-2-1 also known as the Christmas Tree Formation. It hasn't been mentioned for a very long time and probably forgotten

Brilliant explanation! There is a difference between position style and relative style of playing. Totally agree with the conclusion, that relative style is relevant for youth football. If anyone has the whole sources about this thing, please, share in the comment.

Congratulations! I really enjoy your videos. I have been coaching youth for a long time and I am still learning and evolving. Thanks to your channel and others like it, this spring I took a team of 13 year olds, 75% who had never played football/soccer and we won the Championship game against a team with 85% highly experienced players. We did this by having superior training sessions and building a team that would not quit. We lost many games at the beginning of the season, but then started winning. I kept telling the players "We just need to peak at the end".

I would like to suggest a 352/532 video. I would also like to see a number of videos on formations matched against each other. So 442 v other formations, 433 v other formations etc. Maybe not every single combo but the more interesting ones.

3:30 this may be because in England the pressure and running by the opposition (high press) is much more intense. Look at the Newcastle game, not only was United out manned in the midfield but in possession they struggled to hold the ball with the press of Newcastle. I don’t think the 3-4-3 / 3-5-2 / 3-4-2-1 is going to work at the high end of English football. The press is too intense. The 3 to 4 opposition players in the midfield out number united resulting in the loss of possession and the inability to recover the ball. They’re also open to diagonal runs with wingers cutting inside to combine with the striker(s) again like we saw with Gordon / Murphy / Isak and even with Joelinton pressure higher up to pitch. Even if Amorim has the players, I don’t have a lot of confidence in the system.
