Never reloading any weapon, she's rushing forward when she had just emptied her clip, but she always makes sure to kill every barnacle and every headcrab, no matter what while strickly stay away from the right mouse button. Also any scientist will heal you but you have to be under 50hp at this difficulty level. If you're above the threshold they can't heal you as they essentially just give first aid when you're really low. It's also amazing how she misses many of the traps to kill ememies, once everything is dead she activates them accidentally and runs into them herself :D

Yup there's a reason people buy from steam...these games gave them the income they would use to build the steam network. They really set the stage for all fps afterwards. Including this one little mod for halflife one called .... counterstrike... perhaps you've heard of it.

One thing I love about this game is is replayability. Before I learned to speedrun it, I casually played it a LOT and watched some guides to get the stuff I missed. I still like to play it casually. There are all sorts of side areas, snippets of chatter or dialog, and endless details in the environment that add up to tell a story that has you intrigued and wanting to know more. One thing I appreciate about this game is that Valve doesn't seem to mind or care if you miss out on some content the first time, or ever. They don't always hold your hand. That makes the world of the game feel so much bigger and expansive, like it's a world that exists separately from the POV character.

Modern games have also conditioned us to expect feedback when we’re doing the right thing, but vehicles don’t really react until you hit them enough times.

Right click can turn off the laser on the rocket launcher. That way you can easily shot four or five rockets at a tank from behind cover. And the laser has a charge, and the crossbow a zoom.

here a funny little trick of my brother regarding the tau gun. right click charges that gun,and gives it a recoil. that recoil can safe you when falling from heights. charge durign fall,point down and fire before impact,it catches you and prevents damage by impact.also,you can jump on buildings with that,but it needs training. my brother managed to jump to all kind of places with that gun,like windowsockets or roofedges.

21:37 - Psychologists call this 'confirmation bias', where new facts are interpreted to fit a pre-existing opinion. It's something game developers really do try and plan for. In this case, the giant tank is placed directly in the player's path after they are given a ton of rockets, clearly a hint suggesting it should be destroyed. However, if there's a pre-existing opinion that Tanks are invulnerable, the player will dismiss all these hints and instead do the speed-running strat of jumping over. Definitely not the intended path, but hey, whatever works.....

The 'Bee Bee Gun' is the best weapon in the game. It's especially good for killing the 'fleas'. 1) It effectively shoots around corners, great for shooting from behind cover. 2) You don't have to pinpoint your aim on a target, just aim in its general direction. 3) It recharges its own ammo. Glad you're having as much fun playing this one as we are watching you play it!

As many people have already told you any kind of military vehicle can be destroyed with explosive weapons or energy weapons. It's just that it takes more than 2 shots, it doesn't show any signs of destruction due to game engine and you also need to destroy the cannon on the top. Don't shoot anywhere else, it's pointless. Oh well, maybe you'll remember this information next time. In other words, after you are done with Half-Life check out the other expansions : Half-Life : Uplink, Opposing Force and Blue Shift in whatever order you want. Then, move onto Half-Life 2. Cheers!!!

If I remember correctly, you can alternate fire with nearly every weapon. Shotgun doubles the shots with right click etc.

Tbf, there’s not really an indicator that rockets do any damage to tanks. Most other enemies flinch, bleed, make pained noises, etc when shot or damaged. But the tanks and vehicles just kind of keep sitting (or flying) when hit by a rocket. It’s basically the same as what happens when you shoot a wall. It takes several direct hits before it finally gets destroyed. In a game where you have to use your ammo and weapons strategically, it makes sense to conserve rockets if you aren’t sure that they do anything.

Game gives you like 7 rockets before an encounter with a tank You shoot 2 rockets at it "This thing cannot die, I don't know why the game gives me this gun" And, yeah, right click, again. Most of your guns have alt fire with right click. For instance, on the rocket launcher right click disables the red dot and causes the rockets to fly straight without your input.

You should jump into the Options -> Content tab and untick 'Enable Original Models'. That'll enable the "HD Model pack" that came with the Blue Shift expansion, back when that was released in 2001. Weapon and character models look so much better, weapons look more like real world counterparts and people look less triangular, with more human looking skin tones

When you use the rocket launcher and want to shoot and take cover, you should turn off the laser dot so the rocket just keeps flying forward and not try to follow the dot. Also you can destroy tanks. It just takes several hits with the rockets.

I enjoy good graphics, but they are mere eye candy and far less important to me than engaging writing and enjoyable mechanics. Consider "West of Loathing", for example. That game literally uses drawn stick figures for graphics, but it is fun to play nonetheless. Half-Life is even better.

Not sure if someone has mentioned this before, but most of the weapons HAVE a secondary fire mode: Rifle has a frag launcher, crossbow has a scope mode, shotgun has a double shell shot, RPG has a non guided mode and the Gauss and TAU gun have both an overcharged shot. Give them a try!

looks like noone has said it yet, but the Raygun, or I dont remember how is called, but the laser weapon, you can charge the laser, and shoot a stronger shot, one that is sure to demolish of strongest of foe, now as the pair of scientist tried the weapon, I think it can explode but im not entarily sure, I played this game when it came out, and I dont quite remember if the weapon can exploded or just stay charged until you release the attack, right also It will push you back the more you hold the charge.

This is really weird. Amber is clearly quite bright, judging by how easily she got through most of the puzzles in her silent hill series. How has she not realised that the mines can be placed on walls considering that is how you encounter them at least 95% of the time? Always trying to put them on the floor rather than across corridors.
