The sad thing is that at least 74 million Americans apparently would have voted for Mr. Potter for president.

Wow! I didn't know the very talented Doris Day could dance like that! I guess you learn 'stuff' in time, even for an oldie (73) such as myself.

If you can watch this film and not choke up, you're either a child, or probably broken.

No Idea I still haven't since 12/21/1985 got my first job in the city of New Haven, CT USA at the age of 15 after volunteering for the Animal shelter in West Haven, CT. SO still trying my best to help all the loved ones that have past before and during the filming, screening, and final production of this Movie. <3

This is a classic story in mythology. As described by Joseph Campbell - A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons (a thing that is helpful or beneficial) on his fellow man.

"Is it too much to have them work, pay, live, and die in a couple of decent rooms and a bath?!?" I didn't realize why my dad loved this movie so much but it becomes clearer every time I watch it.

By far the best scene on film that I have ever witnessed. Stewart nailed this monologue; I don’t know where he drew the intensity from, but it came from deep down in his soul, down to the faltering voice. A defense of “the little people.”

George is a truly heroic person. George charecter is unmatched truly amazing. He helped people get out of the slums. So what's wrong with that.

1:35 -1:40 "I know very well what you're talking about! You're talking about something you can't get your fingers on and it's galling ya!" What I love most about George's rant here is that he pointed out the only reason Potter even wants the bank is because he doesn't have it already. One of the pettiest reasons anyone can have for wanting something especially of this size is because it doesn't belong to him.
