I'm really sorry about that. I didn't realise that I had missed bleeping that one out until a week or so after the video was uploaded. We've tried to temper our swearing in more recent videos and try to make sure we remove any from the audio. Thanks for subscribing and watching our videos.

This video was full of surprises. I always head out from Thirsk but I've never gone to Fridaythorpe that route. Not that I know what routes I've taken in the past as I'm always trying to keep up with a loon on a GS or a KTM that is moving far faster than is sensible for a tourist. I'll stop at Seaways for a bacon bap but I didn't know they offered glamping. And what was that Cathedral you passed?

The old Emley Moor mast fell down a few days after my 8th birthday in 1969. I remember it well because dad took myself and brother up there to play in the ruins. You could run inside the dark, snake-like 'tunnels' that were created after structure landed in the nearby fields!

I live near Delph, ride these roads a lot ,I never cease to be amazed at the total disregard for other road users that these idiots on bikes have. I don't care what happens to them, it's the poor bleeder they take with em that makes it worse. The thing is they recon they're really good riders but they're not, they're shite riders with a death wish😮 unbelievable

We did more or less this route in the car yesterday (15.07.24), only the other way around. I've done this route several times on my bike in the past as we live in Slawit in Huddersfield. The reason there were two towers at Emley Moor was because the main concrete tower was being upgraded and the metal one was temporary until the old one was done. Hope that helps.........

Emley Moor mast fell down in the 1970s, apparently due to the weight of ice. The second tower now removed was a maintenance tower while the main tower had work done to it, we don’t want a concrete tower going over ! From memory, the old tower was metal and couldn’t take the ice plus high winds.
@VetandBeanie
@VetandBeanie 29 күн бұрын
I hadn't realised that the tower had collapsed in the 70s. I did wonder why there were signs warning of faling ice. Thanks so much for watching our video.

Much better view with that deflector removed from your wind screen. Thanks for that. I enjoy your videos even more. Rode out in the South East to Goodwood and spent a lot of time in the Cotswolds and then up to Derbyshire in May. I'll be back in September and then I''m in Thirsk and I'll strike out for some of your recommended rides over toward the West Riding. Keep up the good work. That way I don't have to buy my own GoPro to show my children why I keep motorcycles in the UK. :)
@VetandBeanie
@VetandBeanie 29 күн бұрын
I do have to agree with you, the video does look better without the screen deflector however it's taking a bit of time to get used to a face full of wind at speeds over 40mph. Small price to pay though. The Cotswolds make for great riding. We'll be back there soon too I think. Enjoy North Yorkshire in September.
