I will be 80 yrs. old next week. I DO NOT get done what I did 10 yrs. ago. I have gotten slower especially in the last 5 years. I don't compare myself to anyone else but I do tend to look back at all I used to get done and what a tiny bit I do now. I hate that everything takes me 3-4 times longer now. And I know I will only get slower. Old age is not something you get over, mores the pity. The best thing about it is it makes you long to go to your forever home. Sometimes I find myself just sitting. As my mother used to say "Just keep on living." Have a blessed day.

Thank you for the discount code! My husband and I just ordered the metal raised beds and I'm so excited! This was an answer to my prayers because we had just talked about how to make some raised beds and then I watched your video. Thank you so, so much! ❤

UPDATE: Great news… just found good news about safety of resin planters. The short answer, they’re safe! The long answer: “Unlike some wood and metal planters, resin pots don't absorb water or leach substances into the soil. This makes them a safe choice for planting and ensures that they won't affect the soil or the plants growing in them. That's especially important for planters growing edible plants like herbs.” HTHs others who may have had concerns.

I’m new at bread baking but this recipe is fool proof! I’ve made it 5 times now and each time I was thinking, this is a bust, it’s not looking right, and I’m afraid to look at the bread when it’s done. However, every single time I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how good it looks and how wonderful it tastes! This is a great recipe, thank you Mary!❤😊

Wow! I just made this last night and today. It didn’t look as good as yours and didn’t rise as much but it was a definite wow……I sprinkled it with the everything seasoning as you suggested and oh my goodness!! My husband and I are loving it! Thank you once again for a winner!!

Just chatted with the company about the planter. They didn’t seem to understand my question of “is the plastic food safe”. When they told me I could grow veggies in it, I asked what the assigned recycle number is they didn’t know what that is and couldn’t tell me. I explained the numbering system. They’re going to check with their manufacturer and email me by tomorrow. I’m encouraged, but I will wait to order until I get an answer to this. By any chance do you have further information about this? Thank you
@TheRoseHomestead6 сағат бұрын
From what I have been able to research the planter is made from resin. While you wouldn't want to prepare food on it and eat directly off of resin, it's generally considered food safe if your food comes in contact with it. It is essentially a hard plastic that has been cured for weather proofing. I hope that helps!

@@TheRoseHomestead ok. Thank you. You found more definitive info than I did. I appreciate you responding.

This planter looks terrific and will work in my small space (senior community- small yard!). No where on website does it say the plastic is food safe. I’m going to give them a quick call before I order. Thanks, Mary. I’m excited to try this.

I appreciate this video so much! I can’t wait to watch more of them. A friend gave me a jar of her 34-year old sourdough starter & I didn’t know the first thing of what to do with it. I feel much more informed after watching this. Thank you so much for simple explanations!

Hmm, I guess I’m not following the same channels as you because I haven’t gotten that vibe. I take what I find useable and beautiful, and try to file that away for future use. I’ve picked up so may useful tips from you, Lisa (farmhouse on Boone), Heidi (rain country), Mary (Mary’s Nest), Elly (Elly’s Everyday), and I’m having so much fun trying them all!

I love all of those channels! I've learned so much from each of them as well! I've only watched a few videos from a couple of other channels that were heavily reliant on this topic. I don't follow them, I just came across them recently.

The second loaf of bread is how I make my cinnamon bread. With a few more twists to make it almost round. I pop it in the Dutch oven so the butter doesn't spill out. It becomes a pull apart bread and is delicious!!

Have you ever heard of square foot gardening? I have adapted that to square foot cleaning/house keeping. One day I might dust mop one room. Another day, wipe the widow sills in the kitchen. The dishes are daily and the bathroom gets wiped down twice a week. I only do 2 loads laundry per week. I take a bit of time each day to go outside with a mop bucket, fill it with weeds and put it on the compost, yes my garden could use an entire crew but I've learned to accept its imperfection.

I grow my cucumbers and beans on a lattice trellis and they love it. I tried to move them last year into my actual garden and they did not produce as well, so I moved them back this year. So far, they seem like they are doing as they always have...growing. They will grow so high that they grow above our house. I have never seen anything like it. But, this is only my third year of gardening, so that first year really spoiled me because they grew so much in such a short time that I was blown away. I didn't know that stuff grew like that, but I had never grown food before. Now that I have a better idea of how to do it, I will do whatever I can to stay away from grocery store foods. There is no comparison.

Thank you for all your videos I like the simple easy methods you use. I have one question. When you take your starter out of the refrigerator to bake or feed do you stir it first or just scoop it out and then just put back in the refrigerator? I get confused on this part about stirring or just scooping. Thank You so much.
@TheRoseHomestead6 сағат бұрын
I usually just scoop out of it without stirring. I can't tell it makes much difference in my experience.

Wise words ❤ my husband and I have a 160+ acre farm with quite a bit of livestock. He recently became very sick and thank God's blessings, he's getting better everyday. So, I to have also learned that it's ok if I can't get everything done. And I'm also a "young" 😂 68 and my husband is 9 yrs my senior. And we are getting ready to start cutting our hay. God has blessed us as He has taught us so much. Love your videos and may God Bless each and everyone 🙏🏻💕

I want to live in a lived in home....I do not want people to come over and feel uncomfortable because everything is in its place and spotless....I raised 6 boys and homeschooled and enjoyed doing things with my family. I am now 70 and cannot do what I used to do but we do now live in a smaller home which helps....we still garden and have chickens. I love to be outside as well and try to everyday. I have always been a stay at home mom and we went without many things but we had everything we needed. I so enjoy your videos. I am with you girlfriend! Thanks for your encouragements!

Hi there, I wanted to pop in to say I finally have a starter!! I did my happy dance. so I used some Kamut and warm water. this was after using some hard white wheat berries. this is day 4 for me so with some hope and a prayer, I might be able to put it in fridge on day five. so happy. I just stuck with it determined this is going to work for me. Kept in in my oven with light on and took temperature it was a stable 84 degrees. 😊 thank you so much for all your input.

Mary this video was just what I needed to hear. I am 69 and cannot achieve nearly as much as I would like. I do stress about it and you made me realise just to be kind to myself. After 27years working I retired in 2022 and am loving being to embrace my love of cooking. I hate housework but always keep my floors and bathroom done but dusting is a chore that isn’t done as often as it should be. I also love sewing knitting etc. I have made your sourdough discard bread and love it. Yesterday I made your chocolate banana loaf and my gosh is it lovely. I am keen to try your carrot cake. You are an inspiration and I pray that the Lord blesses you and Casey abundantly. I live in Australind Western Australia. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am 61 and my husband and I live on a 13-acre farm. We raise cows, have chickens, 2 kids and a dog. I rarely just kick back and watch t.v. unless I am sick. After watching a few "young mothers" who have 4 , 6 or even more children, but they are quite a bit younger than I am. We all have to do what we can do and the ultimate goal, is to walk in the love and peace of God. You are such a blessing to me, I appreciate your channel so much..Thank you for your honesty and transparency...God bless you dear lady. And thank you for this yummy recipe...Sherri-Payette Idaho
