After many attempts to learn knitting it finally “took” in November 2009: y The key was circular needles, wonderful alpaca yarn and finding out that I could have the working yarn on the left! Two months later I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I continued to knit , increasing volume and difficulty. I’m still knitting even though it takes much longer to complete a project. Whole body exercise is proven to help Parkinson’s symptoms and I believe that the knitting has as well

wow now I can stop feeling concern about my addiction to knitting, needle crafts, and lots of other artistic pursuits.

I noticed that when I cross stitched as well - I had to concentrate on the project at hand.
