LEDs need resistor in series because they are current drived and not voltage drived. As someone else mentioned, put a few of them in series.

nice pen man but on god, please oil the drill bits and get some new chucks. its a miracle none of the drill bits snapped during the drilling and some new chucks could have prevented the wiggle which caused you to to get the unevenes which had to be sanded of. maybe new drill chucks are expensive but oil shouldnt be that expensive
