Hey Amanda -- I was curious: How do you think the existence of souls in the world of ASOIAF lines up with George's care for scientific plausibility in his world bulding?

Valyrian steel is based off Damascus steel. Both metals display a flowing water pattern, both were reputed to result in exceptional quality blades at the time, and like Valyrian steel, the true method for crafting Damascus steel has been lost, meaning that true Damascus steel weapons can no longer be crafted. Notably, even modern interpretations of Damascus steel are expensive, and a sword made using such material can easily cost twice that of a handmade sword from traditional or high-carbon steel.

Other people have guessed that Euron drinks wildfire, blows the horn, and jumps from the Hightower as it collapses. But here's a thought that just came into my head: This has to mirror Bran's coma dream, which means at the end, Euron has to fly somehow... So what if one of Dany's dragons (Viserion) catches him before he hits the ground? The dragon can have been summoned in a previous chapter and spend a few hours/days flying to Oldtown, seemingly coming out of nowhere. What an awesome scene that would be.

I'm starting to think that the "3 heads of the dragons" basically means "3 narratives to the same character": 1) The hero narrative - the side of R'hallor religion, the Azor Ahai, who fought against demons and sacrificed his wife to save mankind. 2) The villian narrative - the side of the children of the forest, the opposite religion, who in their eyes he's the bad guy who cast down their gods - the old gods ("the true gods") and murdered his sister (who could also be his wife since we're talking about pro-valyrian society and both of them were the blood of the dragon). 3) maybe reality? the last side can be what really happened that we simply don't know yet

Such a great video. Very nice compilation of ideas and evidence. I've got a few things to add: -In memory sorrow and thorn, the heroes bring the three sword together at Green Angle tower. They think this will allow them to defeat Ineluki, but this is a mistake and is a condition for his resurrection. Kind of like Sam bringing the horn to Oldtown if it allows Euron to undergo his transformation. -I think the series of events could look like this: Euron drinking wildfire, blowing the horn, and then jumping from the Hightower as it collapses with or onto his sacrifices in a fiery inferno. It would be such a rad terrible scene, which really motivates George. -In the house of the Undying, Dany is given three visions and then told she will be the slayer of lies. The first scene is Stannis (blue-eyed king, no shadow), the third is fAegon (cloth dragon on poles, cheering crowd), and the third seems to be Euron: from a smoking tower, a great stone beast took wing, breathing shadow fire. Thus, Euron will become a dragon of sorts and Dany will slay him after slaying Stannis and fAegon. ...or at least that was the plan in 1998. Now who knows.

So Bran needs to undo things, reverse the seasons, and he names his wolf “Summer,” which reversed is “Remmus”, which is just one extra “m” away from Remus, of Romulus and Remus fame, twin brothers raised by a wolf!

So close, please, please, take the next step. This is a conflict between brothers and about kinslaying. How this plays out has to be between kin. This will resolve between Jon and Bran. I can show you the elements you're intentionally avoiding because you want Jon to be a different character. Jon is Bran's Grey King in their line of this narrative.

There is also that statement of Tyrion's I heard you refer to - Will he get a new body when he lives again... or whatever it was. So there is some faction or group that believes in reincarnation? IDK - It seems to me that we have that old fashioned division of earth, wind, fire, and water ... oh, and ether (for those who go to live in the heavens as stars)... and really, there is no burial regarding wind - and it makes me think that we have water magic, fire magic, and earthen magic... and so shouldn't there be 3 aspects of the Gods? It confused me that there only seems to be the many faced God... and that unnamed other. There should also be that Merling King. This is quite confounding.

In a feudal society, isn't everyone in service to their liege lord? ... and so everyone is a thrall to someone... except the High King or Empiror, right? I'm not sure why this makes it darker than we think. UNLESS, they are in service to one of the Gods - and I guess there are only 2 sides here... The Lion Lord of Night... and the Maiden Made of Light. Or as Melisandre says - there is Rh'lor and the unnamed great other. So... to which is the maesters in service? The greatest sin is kin-slaying, or at least that's emphasized over and over. The Green King and his brother the Gray King continue to battle it out through history? ... while the Gods show favor to the side that does the least kin slaying? I'm not really getting it. Supposedly, the Lion of night did something so horrible that the Maiden of Light turned her back to him... which is also supposed to be the reason for the "long night". It's not so easy to navigate through all this to find that golden thread.

So... somewhere in this universe volcanoes are making a come back? Has a dormant one gone active? Is the mother of mountains waking up? Makes me think about the calamity at Hard Home - some sort of explosion there ... what.... 600 years ago? What was THAT all about? Then we have some sort of heat source under Winterfell which heats the hot springs, right? Source of magic too? One thing that seems to escape just about everyone is that scene where Bran is warging Summer... and Summer sees a great gray snake with wings in the sky... I think it's the last Bran chapter ACOK? or maybe AFFC? Before the Boltons left, they supposedly torched Winterfell... but what if it was that winged snake? And where did THAT come from other than maybe having escaped from the crypts. There was that time when Hodor would NOT go down into the crypts, and GRRM said it was only that one time for a specific reason. Something escaped from the crypts... and I don't see that woven into anyone's fan theories yet. I think Grey Area mentioned it once... fun to think about, but I'm wearing out my brain again on this stuff.... lol.

Hmmm - perhaps using that horn in Old Towne to "awaken giants" will mess with the resonance of the cosmology to call down a meteor shower somehow... IDK - there are just so many elements... so many details. This could go SO many ways - and wonder if I am hoping in vain for GRRM to publish the next books in the series. I think THAT is the most frustrating thing at the moment....
@tylerbarrett6652
@tylerbarrett6652 23 күн бұрын
Yeah... you're right - Euron IS the last character I want to see with a dragon... but I still have more to process before I can make ANY predictions. All these elements. If LML is right and the long night was brought on by a meteor shower (with a few big impacts)... then what will be the impetus for the long night this time. Hard to see how the drama among the peoples is going to effect them cosmically - I'll just keep listening to the rest of your uploads... and it looks like I need to hit a few others too.

Aaaackk! You didn't give us any potential suspects as to who the 3rd head could be. Ever since I found the works of GRRM being discussed, I was always a bit disappointed that nearly everyone called "Aegon" (young Griff) "Faegon". I thought for sure he would be the 3rd head and that everyone was wrong. The only other potential candidate I might point to is a secret Targaryen - Tyrion... after I considered a theory that he was the product of the Mad King taking one too many liberties with Joanna. I'm trying to watch all your work... and I'm loving it... but I've got a bunch to catch up on. I bet you'll get more into this in your more recent uploads. So... when the stars bleed (notice it's plural), the promised ones will be born amid salt and smoke... is a condition that must be satisfied for each of the 3 heads? (I always did feel like the salt in tears was stretching it a bit...) I'm so glad you shared your thoughts and uploaded these videos. You do a really good job with this.

Didn't the Lord of the Tides have a ship he called the Sea Snake? It's been a while since I've read these books... but I always thought Nagga's ribs were the ribs of a ship ... probably made from Weirwood... and I had to wonder how it was that a Velaryon could come to possess it's next iteration. Didn't the Velaryon's have the Driftwood Throne too somehow? I kept trying to find the connection between the Iron born and the Velaryons... and didn't come up with much.

It's not clear that Balerion died of old age. He became 'old and slow' quite quick after Aerea's trip to Valeria, she returned ill and he returned wounded. He could've been critically injured while dying of an old wound, or he could have contracted parasites or diseases simlar to Aerea's. That's important because that could drastically increase the lifespan of a dragon, and thus its potential size. Food also doesn't have to be a limiter as large enough dragons simply start plucking whales out of the ocean.
@TheDisputedLands
@TheDisputedLands 28 күн бұрын
It probably would have been quicker than taking forty years if that was the case. Balerion was in Valyria between 55AC and 56 AC. In 73 AC we have this "...Alyssa Targaryen meant to be a dragonrider, and sooner rather than later. Aemon had flown at seventeen, Baelon at sixteen. Alyssa meant to do it at fifteen. According to the tales set down by the Dragonkeepers, it was all that they could do to persuade her not to claim Balerion. “He is old and slow, Princess,” they had to tell her. “Surely you want a swifter mount.” Balerion died in 94 AC almost 40 years after returning from Valyria. In 93 AC, Prince Baelon’s sixteen-year-old son, Viserys, entered the Dragonpit and claimed Balerion. The old dragon had stopped growing at last, but he was sluggish and heavy and hard to rouse, and he struggled when Viserys urged him up into the air. The young prince flew thrice around the city before landing again. He had intended to fly to Dragonstone, he told his father afterward, but he did not think the Black Dread had the strength for it. Less than a year later, Balerion was gone.

Dragons being artificially created was always obvious to me, when I read about fire wyrms and wyverns existing, also the Valyrians modifying their gens is also obvious to me, their features are unique and seem "artificial" as well, how they did it will remain a mystery I hope, but is probable a mix of blood magic, alchemy, etc.

love this video very eye opening, the maester conspiracy has always fascinated me- it makes alot of sense to me that they would do all this conspiracy because they feared the long night coming back again, but it also makes me wonder if that is the reason they kept the magical artifacts instead of destroying them just in case the long night happens and they can stop it some how.
