I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how you move from your chaturanga into your back bend or upward facing dog. The way you roll over your toes and before you do that, you kind of push yourself back a little bit, almost like slide back your feet! When I do it, I feel like I´m about to break all ten toes. Thank you for this tutorial, I am pretty new to yoga, it´s been a year now almost and I am practising alone at home, and I feel like the next level is to do the jump backs and/or float from a down dog into forward bend. This tutorial helped me a lot.

:) Hello! Thank you for this amazing tutorial. So one should focus more on the back extension portion instead of hinging by the hip, right?

When doing cobra, would you say it is more spinal extensors arching the back or arms pushing or equal parts spinal extensors and arms? Thanks!
@YYOGAatHome
@YYOGAatHome 9 ай бұрын
Hi there! We would say to avoid overarching in the back, by actually using your legs for power and support. Your arms are also working but bend or straighten your elbows to fit the intensity level you are looking for. Hopefully this helps!

This video is packed with misinformation and outright falsehoods. Although southern Asia was highly literate in BCE 1500, there is zero mention in any literature supporting the idea that the Vedas espouse mind-body-spirit "connection". The mentioning of this doesn't occur until the much younger Upanishads around BCE 500. This idea that that yoga is much older is pushed by far-right Hindu nationalists such as Modi. World class Sanskrit experts such as James Mallinson, Alexis Sanderson, and Hareesh Wallis have found no evidence of yoga mentioned in the Vedas after having researched and translated thousands of ancient Sanskrit documents. The video also fails to mention the strong influence of Buddhist Tantra in Hatha yoga, as well as the massive influence of European gymnastics with what we now call "modern postural yoga". The fact the video's author hasn't bothered to learn to pronounce the word "hatha" correctly is also a huge red flag. Unfortunately yoga teachers viewing this yoga will hear her mispronounce this word, think it's correctly pronounced, and in-turn pass that pronunciation onto their students.

Glad you found this helpful! Lolasana is a bridging moment in the hop forward & is a really fun pose to practice. Core & arm strength are key, as is allowing the relaxation of your hips & pelvis (often this is the hardest part).

@YYOGAatHome
@YYOGAatHome Жыл бұрын
@@naturelover1284 You absolutely can take rest on your tummy. We would recommend either resting your head on top of your hands, or cactus-ing the arms & turning your head to one side. Try bending one leg (half frog) while lying prone. Extra level of comfort : Using a bolster or cushion under your hips and feet 😊

Hi Paula 💕- this is so great to hear! The hips can sometimes make side-poses a little wobbly but the spine & pelvis should be neutral, so work on the beginning exercises to get a sense of what neutral spine & pelvis is like in your body & then find that same posture & sensation on your side
