Honostly never thought about Keiji looking into Asunaru before the Death Game, but actually it would make a lot of sense damn

I only just noticed Ranger never actually says he's the floormaster, only that he was there to support the participants. Everyone just assumed he was because Safalin introduced herself as 'vice-floormaster'. They aren't allowed to lie but they can definitely be deceptive

I personally suspect Keiji of being a mastermind, or at least someone malicious, but I like your theory even more. One thing to note is that even the percentage papers don't mention his current occupation, unlike with any other contestant

in one of his convos with keiji, mr. policeman mentions he'll be having a son and that he wants to give him a passionate name. in japanese, the line can be interpreted as a pun about naming him "jou" - joe's real name. vgperson, who translates the game, is pretty convinced that this confirms joe to be his son. also, we learn in this ep that joe's father died when he was young, and he appears to put a lot of emphasis on keiji being a cop.

If I actually had the balls to play this game, I’d probably vote for Sou because of logical reasons. He’s definitely has his moments where he messes around with the group and I always imagined he'd do something horrible if Kanna was killed, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW? I went back to see Kanna’s death and BOOM! Joe shenanigan’s ensue! I think both routes are great though, Kanna’s route gives you a break from all of the angst and shows how far some characters like Kanna and Sara have come and Sou’s route has an entertaining shit show that shows a completely new side to Sara's character. I’m hoping both routes lead to a victory, but have some bittersweet underlines added to it. I wonder if the way to get the best results is to do a mixed route? (Sou/Reko or Kanna/Alice) I kinda doubt it considering Alice/Reko flat out DIE in Sou's route but eh we'll just wait and see

I just finished what the game currently has last week and the brainrot has set in hard. God I really hope the last chapter is released sooner rather than later, but I can't imagine having to wait 3+ years like you guys have been. Big fan of the theories presented in this vid, you really opened my eyes to quite a few things that went over my head during my own playthrough.

as someone who’s indifferent about both routes, my opinion on both are positive. i think both routes are straightforward and blunt. true to their names, if you will. though, i do find the logic route so interesting. i think voting for kanna really gives the player that “realness” feeling that we see in sara’s character change. it also shows how the death game and asunaro have changed her. i think this route shows that, strong as sara may be, she’s dynamic, just as anyone else. i personally don’t think of it as her giving in to asunaro persay, she’s doing what she thinks will be better for herself in the long run. if anything, this shows how asunaro and participating in the death game changes the characters psychology. it also relates to the simulations ran by asunaro before picking sara to play in the death game. in those simulations, sara is uncaring and evil, selfish to the point of sacrificing everyone around her so she remains the winner. the logic route lets that part of sara show through, if that part of sara’s character is what the player wants to explore. another point i’ll bring up is jou. her forgetting about jou, in essence, is her saving herself. think about it. if she doesn’t, she’s continually plagued by jou’s presence in her hallucinations. logically, it makes sense that she would forget about him entirely not only to preserve her mental state, but to preserve her ability to do her job as the leader. she completely goes against what jou stood for, and what he hoped she would do later down the line, after his death. but in sara’s defense, her hallucinations of jou almost overcame her. if she had kept jou’s memory alive, because shin didn’t program the ai of jou, it would have hurt her more in the long run to remember him. logically, jou is dead, so even if sara continued to remember him, it would have only hurt her. remembering jou wouldn’t bring him back. in her situation, it logically makes more sense and is better for her to forget about him, to continue to focus on herself. i think sara in the logic route is just like it says, logical. there’s two ways to combat asunaro. with logic, or with emotion. with asunaro, and especially midori, both departments are skewed. there wasn’t nearly as much logic implemented as their could have been to have the death game go exactly as planned. there also wasn’t enough emotion considered. how powerful emotion can be, how intensely it can change the trajectory of things. i think both routes are amazingly written! i don’t particularly enjoy one over the other, because both have amazing things to offer depending on which you play.

That last part is especially interesting, because of how the fandom treats other characters for the same reason : desperately wanting to survive, especially in the face of imminent death. One thing i often see is the fandom disliking Q-taro for that one game over where he betrays everyone else to get enough tokens and run away on his own. While this case has less emotional power as Sara watches Q-taro abandon them, it's still pretty reasonable for him to choose an available exit. Another one I see is Sou's case. He suffered a mental breakdown strong enough to choose to discard his entire identity, because he saw that said identity had absolutely no chance to survive, and as a result of that, decided to relentlessly lie, refuse to trust and hide things from the others, yet he isn't nearly as demonized as Nao's actions in the Massacre ending, or Q-Taro in that game over.

This theory is very well done, major props to you for compiling so much evidence to make such a great video. I like the idea that Meister is Sara's father, but I really appreciate your take on the father also potentially being the writer behind the Memorandum. Here's something else that supports this theory: the writer's obsession with the schoolgirl is reflected in the father's obsession with Sara--as demonstrated in the conversation with Kai where the father freaks out over Kai's care for Sara. I'm so excited to see what happens in the final chapter. This game is amazing.

The funniest part about the decision between logic/emotion to me is that I chose Kanna out of emotion, I chose Kanna not just bc she was a problem to the group survivability, but specially bc I tried to help her as much as I could and she still betrayed me. I felt genuinely upset about her XD

I actually chose the Sou route first for many reasons: one to honor Kanna’s request as she was willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of everyone n I also felt bad for Sou who was supposed to be the person who never wins. Sacrificing Kanna felt more emotional than logical to me. As while u could argue that maybe the logic is that we need Sou to beat the master mind. I think Kanna n the others could still pull their own weight well enough without Sou who has been antagonist anyways up to that point. Plus sacrificing Kanna felt like we were forging Sou of his actions which he was doing out of fear n trying to show him that we are willing to put all that behind us yo trust n rely on him. However the aftermath completely ruined that vibe I felt with Sou choosing to betray the group n hating Sara for her choice going full evil n pushing Sara to her own evil side cuz of his actions. So if u ask me sacrificing Kanna should be called the Corrupted Emotional arc or Emotional route gone wrong. When sacrificing Sou instead it feels like we are only reenforcing his ideal of Sara being the bad person when she’s just trying her best. Sacrificing Sou feels counterproductive. Illogical and petty. Making it more of an illogical route for me but the aftermath seems to make this the good choice as Sou finally redeemed himself by using his death to empower the others n help them. So I would deem Sacrificing Sou as an illogical moral decision making his arc the true emotion arc. I also don’t like the route where Sara just forgets Joe completely. I know the masterminds trying to use Joe against her by haunting her but I really wanted her to overcome it n still remember him n feel empowered instead of haunted. Sara forgetting Joe feels like she lost a part of herself n has become a puppet for the game masters.

Ironically enough, my first route was the logic route, but I did it for emotional reasons. Yeah, Sou was far more useful, but the reason I wanted him to live was because his survival rate is... 0.0%. I wanted him to do a one up on the game and actually get to live. That and I also feel like he is smarter and has a lot more background than he lets on. I think his route is going to have a lot of lore while still being grim and dark.

I think liking Sou as a character beyond haha funny liar makes cool faces, allowing him to die in Main Game 2 is more fufilling of his character in a positive way. Something to note in my opinion is that while Kanna sees Sou as better able to help the group, she also as Sou says "is just a kid with a backwards notion that her dying will fix everything". She's mature for a kid her age but she's still a child, less mature than Sou. It always feels to me like allowing Kanna to die is moreso playing into her self-destructive backwards notion, where as Sou legitimately has done considerable wrongs and acted cruelly, even if there's a case for the ends justifying the means. Allowing his redemption of dying in place of Kanna is far more satisfying, especially with how Sou operates if he survives. I dunno, killing Kanna does just feel almost naive in the way Sou himself describes it. There might be some irony in calling that route naive when objectively, Sou is a more useful person to the group under circumstances but things like that are why thinking about this game is like an endless rabbit hole.
