For me they took a bit to get use to with the steeper heel/toe angle. Not anything too uncomfortable, just a few weeks of daily use and everything was much better. I do remember wishing I had ordered up a half size to allow a larger more comfortable insole. Outside of that they were an awesome boot. Get into a regular cleaning process with them and you be good to go. I ignored mine far too long and they got hard as a rock on the lowers. Hope this helped man! 👍

Do you like the flyaway 57 with the heal Original 57 waterproof wedge
@trod7374
@trod7374 Ай бұрын
Both are fine. The wedge sole has a less aggressive tread pattern where as the Flyway has more of a traditional lug sole. Both have basically the same comfort level. Sole wear is about the same due to the sole compound being almost the same. I prefer the wedge sole just so I'm not tracking any more dirt/mud into the work trailer than necessary.

Sizing is spot on for me. I'm a 9.5 in Redwing and a 9.5 in these as well as most other boots. My Nike running shoes I'm a 10. I went with the medium width. I'm on the skinner side of things 5'11" @ 175, so for me they have the right amount of width without getting loose through out the day. They do offer a wide version as well.

How do they rate compared to your JK
@trod7374
@trod7374 4 ай бұрын
The craftmanship on the JK's was the best I've seen thus far. You get what you pay for for sure. Thorogood not quite as good but definitely not as expensive either. Comfort wise the JK take some getting use too because of the tall heal, but after a few weeks that's not an issue. Thorogood is great right from the start. I work in wet conditions daily so the waterproof liner Thorogood uses is really a huge benefit for me. I know the JK's can be oiled and conditioned to basically get the same result...I'm just not willing to do what it takes to keep them in that condition. After about 10 mths of neglect the JK's were as hard a rock and in need of some serious tlc to get them back in working order. The Thorogood's in the same time frame and same neglect just needed a resole. Speaking of soles... The JK soles are firmer than the Thorogood. Softer sole wears faster, but adds a little to the comfort. For me the Thorogood does everything I need a great work boot. Price is fine and matches the quality. Long lasting enough and comfortable to wear all day in the conditions I put them through. I do see that JK is now offering a wedge sole boot called "Forefront" that I might try out. Just not for my daily work. Hope this helps. Any other questions just let me know.

@@trod7374 Do you think you’ll be getting the Cajun Gun Works trigger? I know a ton of KZbinrs that swear by them, but there’s this one guy I watched that said he just left his stock, and after 10,000 rounds the stock trigger actually got even smoother and lighter. @trod7374
@trod7374 7 ай бұрын
I don't have any plans on upgrading to a CGW trigger. The stock trigger was good enough for my needs. I can attest to the fact that the stock trigger does smooth out. It will take a few thousand rounds to accomplish this and the difference may not be enough for some. I'm sure someone has compared the stock trigger to the CGW. I agree...run it stock and upgrade if you feel the need down the road. I will say I have a CZ Shadow 2 and when I want better trigger feel and extremely tight groups I reach for that.

@@trod7374 Awesome! Thanks for the reply. That makes me feel a lot more confident knowing that the stock trigger stays great and gets better! I haven’t had any issues myself landing hits with double action. Personally, I prefer a stiff double action anyhow. It makes me feel safer knowing that it has that little bit more safety. And I agree in any SD situation with the adrenaline pumping you aren’t going to to be thinking about the difference between a 12 pound pull and a 10 pound pull… I would much rather have a bit more stiff of a trigger that I KNOW is going to work, than a sweet aftermarket one that MIGHT have an issue… Also, as far as having the sweet light trigger I have a Canik and I have to say I love it. The trigger is so smooth and the gun runs everything I put through it. Super reliable and only $350 for a full size. If I need to be making any kind of crazy precise shots I always have that lol

I agree with your comment about a gun having to be reliable in order to have a place in the home. I personally don't trust my P07 yet. I bought it used and I believe it was entirely the fault of the previous owner using aftermarket cz 75 mags (a few were in the box). After a box of ammo, my mag just fell out. Then I noticed the mag catch felt funny. Mag release....catch and all, fell out of the gun. I have never had this happen to any firearm. I didn't have any tools on me. The gunsmith at the range put it back together without telling me anything because he is a cranky bastard. I then shot an additional 200 rounds without issue. But I don't trust the gun yet. Normally if something like this happened, I would sell a gun due to lack of trust. But this thing is such a nice shooter that I will actually do whatever is necessary to get it working well.
@tomarmstrong4761
@tomarmstrong4761 Жыл бұрын
Buy the right mags from someone like CZ Custom, Cajun Gun Works, or the like. The 75-series mags aren't the right ones at ALL! Same for mag release parts. Buy from CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works. I have an earlier version of the P10C that came with the ambidextrous mag release. I replaced that with the Apex Tactical single-side release, and it works a LOT better. Apex might have a release for the P07 that's worth trusting, too.

@@tomarmstrong4761 I already bought additional mags. The guy at gunshop had swapped the mag release back to righty before I bought the gun. 600 rounds and no issues now.
