I was a sig guy forever..THEN I bought a CZ ..worst thing I ever did !! Now I can't stop buying CZ's :) I have the P07..P07 Duty and the P07 Tactical. I carry the duty religiously and the Tactical is my night stand gun. Tall suppressor sights that glow like the sun at night on that thing with an o light mini attached. Best shooting guns I own hands down ! Thanks for the vid I enjoyed relearning what I already knew !!

My first DA/SA gun, and still a favorite! This is the gun that got me (a fairly new gun owner) comfortable with carrying with "one in the pipe." After I got mine, and sent a couple hundred rounds through it, I found a P09 that already had a red-dot sight on it on one of the auction sites for a very good price, so now I have a nightstand gun AND an EDC gun that work the same.

I just ordered one of these yesterday after randomly getting it as a rental at a range over the weekend. I've been a rifle shooter my whole life but have never owned my own pistol. I shot a .40 S&W, a Beretta Nano, a Glock 19 and then a CZ P-07. After a couple of magazines through the CZ, I was sold and had to have one. Can't wait to get started with it once it arrives.

John, I know what you mean. I just picked one up this week. I was deciding between an HK USP or this CZ. I kept telling myself I'd rather have the HK, but, this was mostly due to "hearsay" and brand recognition and not actual experience. I heard so much about how good the HK USP was, but, gosh, the price is ridiculous. I would have liked to gone to a range and rent both to shoot, but, all the ranges I'm close to, have neither in stock to rent. Did find an HK USP at a indoor range, but, it's three hours away, and no CZ to compare to. I wasn't even planning on buying a pistol at this time, as I mostly just shoot rifles. Also, I rather have a rifle caliber pistol as my home defense vs a handgun. But here recently, I felt the need to possibly conceal carry and in doing so, was seeking something affordable and reliable without sacrificing accuracy and dependability. Without experience in handgun ammo, on the surface, I'm finding it rather expensive. Due to the cost of ammo, I don't foresee myself practicing too much. So, why spend so much on an expensive HK and not shoot it very often, when I can get a cheaper, but probably, just as good or better product like the CZ? It's videos like this that help with those kind of decisions. BTW, I still kind of have that buyers remorse from not getting the HK, but, I think once I get to the range and shoot this CZ, that will go away.

I am on about 3000 rounds through mine. From factory to my loads, and a couple of very old old ammo. Eats everything. 1 failure to fire. And only because I had a shitty primer seated. Great shooter. I also do a bit of steel challenge comps with it. And I have shot stages quicker than guys with race guns.

To own this gun is to love it. I have had a couple of thousand rounds through mine. I decided to break it down to polish out the moving parts. That made a huge difference. I also replaced the roller with one from CGW... that said, the rest of my trigger is bone stock. I personally don't like to mess with too many aftermarket parts because I see my CZ as a tool that can save my life, and I don't want to do anything to diminish the factory reliability. I highly recommend the polish job though, made a world of difference, and I got to know the inner workings of my gun much better than most. Thanks for the video.

Yeah something about this gun that I just gravitate towards! I've put about 1,000 since the video and it just keeps hammering! Have polished trigger parts in the past...mainly Glock... when I actually had them. Haven't thought about it with this gun. Might have to take a look if you say it makes a huge difference! Pretty close to selling a couple HK VP9's that I own for another P07 and possible P09! Maybe try a trigger job on 1 of those? Thanks for the comment and subscribe if u could...Trying to get this channel going! Thx Weelzup!

@@trod7374 Yup, polishing made it like butter. I was happy with the trigger before I did that, this took it to the next level. If you are going to get another 07 or 09 I would go for the spring kit for that one. M-Carbo makes an affordable, but minimal, kit for them... CGW is the grand daddy kit. They do an amazing job and their kit includes the roller (not in the M-Carbo kit) that was kind of game changing. The factory roller is gritty, doesn't actually roll most of the time, and is really tough to polish, so I picked one up from CGW and am happy I did. Mostly, I'm happy I did it all myself (I'm far from being a gunsmith) because I now know exactly what is going on in there and was really impressed with the thoughtful designs of various parts by CZ. I will be buying more CZs for sure.

@@trod7374 Do you think you’ll be getting the Cajun Gun Works trigger? I know a ton of KZbinrs that swear by them, but there’s this one guy I watched that said he just left his stock, and after 10,000 rounds the stock trigger actually got even smoother and lighter. I’m thinking I’ll keep mine stock for now and just see how it ages, but yeah the CJW trigger upgrade does seem interesting
@trod7374
@trod7374 8 ай бұрын
I don't have any plans on upgrading to a CGW trigger. The stock trigger was good enough for my needs. I can attest to the fact that the stock trigger does smooth out. It will take a few thousand rounds to accomplish this and the difference may not be enough for some. I'm sure someone has compared the stock trigger to the CGW. I agree...run it stock and upgrade if you feel the need down the road. I will say I have a CZ Shadow 2 and when I want better trigger feel and extremely tight groups I reach for that.
@futurereflectionsmedia8391

@@trod7374 Awesome! Thanks for the reply. That makes me feel a lot more confident knowing that the stock trigger stays great and gets better! I haven’t had any issues myself landing hits with double action. Personally, I prefer a stiff double action anyhow. It makes me feel safer knowing that it has that little bit more safety. And I agree in any SD situation with the adrenaline pumping you aren’t going to to be thinking about the difference between a 12 pound pull and a 10 pound pull… I would much rather have a bit more stiff of a trigger that I KNOW is going to work, than a sweet aftermarket one that MIGHT have an issue… Also, as far as having the sweet light trigger I have a Canik and I have to say I love it. The trigger is so smooth and the gun runs everything I put through it. Super reliable and only $350 for a full size. If I need to be making any kind of crazy precise shots I always have that lol

I bought a new CZ-P07 a few weeks ago. Two days ago I was finally able to find some time to field strip it to prepare it for its first trip to the range. While removing the recoil spring assembly it flew apart on me. The cap at the back of the guide rod had ejected allowing the spring to suddenly uncoil. I called CZ. They are sending a replacement recoil spring assembly. Then yesterday, I came across a You Tube video where the person said the CZ-P07 should not be dry fired. I couldn't find anything about this in the manual so I searched on You Tube under ``CZ-P07 dry fire'' and found videos on the problem with the firing pin retaining pin. It seems the firing pin eventually can cause enough damage to the retaining pin that it causes the pistol to malfunction. The recommended remedy is a replacement pin from Cajun Gun Works or CZ Custom. The latter is solid steel. It seems this pin would eventually cause damage to the firing pin which is probably why CZ went with the roll pin to begin with. The Cajun Gun Works design is a slotted pin. I ordered that. Among these videos is also a good video on how to safely dry fire a CZ-P07: Place part of a foam earplug over the back of the firing pin protruding from the slide. This is better than using a snap cap since the snap cap ejects when you cycle the slide. Looking forward to finally getting the CZ-P07 out to the range!

@@eddierivera2908 I found that a number 83 rubber o-ring works great. It fits snugly behind the firing pin. You can get a pack of 10 from Home Depot for about $2.50. I dry fire quite a bit and I'm still on my first one.

I've got one on a 40 and it shoots like great but I don't put her through that kind of test thing where it might ruin it. Yeah it's definitely an excessive test and was only to show that it could do it. Always risky pushing the limits. Luckily no damage to report. Not that it couldn't happen that's for sure. I agree with your comment about a gun having to be reliable in order to have a place in the home. I personally don't trust my P07 yet. I bought it used and I believe it was entirely the fault of the previous owner using aftermarket cz 75 mags (a few were in the box). After a box of ammo, my mag just fell out. Then I noticed the mag catch felt funny. Mag release....catch and all, fell out of the gun. I have never had this happen to any firearm. I didn't have any tools on me. The gunsmith at the range put it back together without telling me anything because he is a cranky bastard. I then shot an additional 200 rounds without issue. But I don't trust the gun yet. Normally if something like this happened, I would sell a gun due to lack of trust. But this thing is such a nice shooter that I will actually do whatever is necessary to get it working well.
@tomarmstrong4761
@tomarmstrong4761 Жыл бұрын
Buy the right mags from someone like CZ Custom, Cajun Gun Works, or the like. The 75-series mags aren't the right ones at ALL! Same for mag release parts. Buy from CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works. I have an earlier version of the P10C that came with the ambidextrous mag release. I replaced that with the Apex Tactical single-side release, and it works a LOT better. Apex might have a release for the P07 that's worth trusting, too.

@@tomarmstrong4761 I already bought additional mags. The guy at gunshop had swapped the mag release back to righty before I bought the gun. 600 rounds and no issues now. I'm sure they're are other guns that I'd like just as much, but luckily I found CZ and don't plan on searching elsewhere. I've only had HK and Sig double/single hammer fired guns before CZ, so I'm no expert. I've got plenty of striker fired guns and ever since this CZP07 they all just come up short. Hopefully you can get your hands on one soon so you can get a feel for it! Everyone is different in when it comes down to feel, but at least i can tell you reliability won't be an issue! Man that's tough not having 1 close. I'm fortunate to have 2 gun shops close that have just about everything. I'd def go for the standard model at first. Get use to running it in stock trim. If you ever plan on running a suppressor I'd price a threaded barrel and suppressor height sights to add to your stock P07. Then compare that cost to a Tactical model which already comes suppressor ready. You might be close enough just to spend a bit more for a second pistol? 1 stock and 1 suppressed. Just a thought... Good luck on what ever you decide. Can't go wrong with CZ!

One argument I never understood was people saying they don't like "FUMBLIN" around with a safety. I totally understand preferences, you can carry how you see best fit, but you lose me when you say you don't like one choice because you say you lack the ability to train it due to incompetence. So try to hear this out: someone's only gonna fumble if they're not trained. That fumbling bullshit excuse is because of you, not the safety. Hell, I don't even know what other examples of "heat of the moment" nonsense people try to justify taking one position over the other. idk, did the samurai carry around a mace because a katana is too hard to line up straight for an effective cut? No, they learn the blade and deal with it, they can cut something on any axis no problem because they know how to line up the edge (and for those who don't know, a katana specifically requires quite a straight bead on the slashing motion to really utilize what that particular weapon is meant to do. i.e. hundreds of hours of training, and not a single man out east complained about it). Maybe that's not the best example, but fuck, it's not like all of a sudden carrying citizens started dropping like flies when others carried something other than a 1911. There's nothing wrong with cocked and locked, I'm not saying you are shitting on it either, I'm not here to make a case for it and convince you, I'm just making a case against the meat headed argument that they cant train themselves to flip a fucking switch. I bet you all can walk to the bathroom right now blindfolded, turn on the lights without feeling around on the wall, lift the lid, whip your dick out, and get everything in the toilet like a big boy. You'd have to be a literal ape to not know what these kinds of actions feel like and how if you sat there for a minute, realized that 75% of everything you do is exactly the same as the day prior and work on everything down the the smallest detail to the point you make yourself sick of the level of hyperawareness you just achieved. It should be like poetry in motion by the time you're done. Everything is muscle memory, and if you're serious about your own self defense, you'd break yourself down further to make this all PRACTICALLY instinctive (I say practically because it will always be 2nd nature at best, you still have to think, identify your target, yadda yadda, use your brain like you live in the megametropolis that is modern day society). There's no difference between choosing a physical safety and an 8lb trigger. Fuck, get a 75b and carry hammer down & locked, who gives a fuck. This ended up longer than it needed to be, I'm sure someone out there has rebuttals or could articulate it better - I don't care.

@@trod7374 not "excessive" at all. That initial schedule of fire is absolutely what any self defense firearm should be put through after its purchase. I personally don't comfort myself by running a box and a half of Ammo thru a brand new gun and then telling myself it's reliable

Practice more on trigger control, your finger is going to far after the reset!! And it's pointless ro add the safest if you'll never use it, that decocker is more useful on these guns, no safety needed as the trigger is pretty heavy in double action no way you'll have a accidental discharge... least how I run mines...18rds in such a compact gun you can't go wrong!!

I don't about these guys in these gun videos. They always sound like they don't know what they are talking about. They sound ignorant. And their gun handling is always super weak. Anybody serious about their skills and defense I feel like don't have a multitude of different weapons. They're more tacticool than actually someone we should listen too.
