Oh geez! Just grab yourself a one inch length of 1/8" X 1" X 1" angle iron punch through at least 3 holes for 1/4" 20/24 bolts, and screw the damn thing back together without ripping the entire frame apart piece by piece. Besides, the cost for a new 3ed party frame strut has risen over 300% from $35 to over $88 in the last 3 months, plus another $30 or more just for shipping from the Only place in the world who makes all the obsolete, out of production crap nowadays! (China) Nissan KNOWS this is an issue, but the buggers wouldn't correct it, so it's an engineered, "intended fail-point" design to keep your car in their shops with an irritating failure that's not legally a "Safety Issue". . . I checked with our shop here in Oregon. The cost for the shop to fix it would be $1,500... IF they can Find the damn part! (They ONLY use "Approved Nissan" parts, of which if the vehicle is around 3 or more years older, are out of stock already with no more to be created, and the shop Will Not use any Used or 3ed Party replacement item. SO REPAIR IT! Stop Being So Damn Wasteful!! Weld it, Bolt it, Sleeve it. It's quicker and cheaper. And once you "FIX IT", it Won't Be An "Engineered FAIL POINT" Any Longer, OK? Quit living the "Throw-Away" life, and get with the REPAIR aspect of what you Should be doing. Quit being so damn lazy! You don't slaughter your horse just because it needs to be re-shod, right? So why the hell are y'all acting so damn stoooopid with your expensive car?? Tell the Nissan Engineers to go screw themselves and get-er' done the correct way, for your self! However, even the 3ed party pieces are just as weak, or more so in the same way as the OEM parts. So you're only buying a ticket to do it again in the near future by replacing the damn thing, Get it now? "Fix It". Repair it Once _Correctly,_ and be done forever.

The left and right seats have their motors in the perceptive "same place", but they're a flip-image of each other due to the "side" of the vehicle it's mounted on. So the drivers side tilt motor is on the left side, while the passengers tilt motor is on the right side, at the same "Vehicle Placement Perspective" as the other.

I have had intermittent hums/whines with a small degree of smoking over the last two months. Of course the problem went away while taking in for service at two different garages. At both garages I was told I had some minor leaks around some gaskets which I declined since they were very minor. I did end up replacing the serpentine belt and timing belt - they just needed done regardless. I explained to both the hum/whine and smoke from lower front part of engine and that it happened at the same time. Finally, today, my wife says the battery light is on and I have her pull up to my office building and not kill the engine. I also hear the hum and there is smoke coming out yet again. Managed to get it to the closer garage (not my preferred for big jobs), and called the other garage and they suggested the alternator and pulley, and this video seems to confirm as much. Would have been nice to have heard that the first time around instead of it getting to this point. Same information was provided to them except for the addition of the battery light. This video certainly sounds like my whine and the location of the alternator fits with the general location of where I was getting smoke.
