Learn something new every day, didn't know putting it in reverse would isolate the diagnosis to the rear mounts. Thanks very much for the video. Now time to try to dremel that sheared off water pump bolt out of the engine block before i can put the whole timing belt mess back together. It's not looking real good, wish me luck. :)

My mounts were shot on my V6 95 Accord, replaced all mounts with aftermarket and vibration is about the same/worse. Honda mounts are discontinued, any recommendation for a replacement brand? The vibration is driving me crazy. I could go to a junkyard and get an OEM rear mount, but putting 27 year old rubber parts is not at the top of my list.

Usually under the oil pan, but make sure you use a wood plank to distribute the engine weight. You don't want to poke or bend the oil pan.

1) On my RL, when I shift from P to R, to D or vice versa, I hear a noise under the car. Basically I hear my shifts in the form of clunks. Is this normal? 2) I did check engine mounts as you did in the video and engine seems stable, but I did see a bit more movement when I was shifting from D to R. 3) I checked transmission mount and it has few superficial cracks, but nothing that would warrant a replacement. Here is a sample video which can show you the engine movement and at 39 sec mark, I switch from D to R and continue testing. Also you can probably catch the sound when I switch gears and at the end after shutting off the engine, there is a metallic click(at 50 sec mark): photos.app.goo.gl/jcGLZxjpmbtHhzjX9
