Meddles and Dark Side of The Moon are two great albums to chek out but the first one Piper at The Gates of Dawn is the one to hear first if you really want to know what they were about at the very beginning....

I was there in 75 when this came out and trust me,the entire word was like "I have no idea what's happening here but I love it" lol You need to get a list of their singles and prepare for greatness

This is one of the most culturally significant bands of all time! Literally no one hasn’t been touched by their music from sports to commercials, to movies! Top: Lady GaGa took her name from one of their songs. 😉Freddie Mercury is an iconic front man. His voice has literally been studied by science to figure out how he could do what he could do vocally. Every member of the band are master musicians and prolific song writers. Brian and Roger still performs today. I hope you continue to check them out.

So the Genre was known as "Rock Opera," and its hard to pull off, Queen is the best and considered the number 1 Rock Band in the World by billions of people. The name means two things:1) they are from Britain so living in a Monarchy and 2) Freddie Mercury the writer and main singer was a closeted gay, who of course back then people were known as "Queens," derogatively of course. Freddie Eventually cameout as "Bi," but nobody came out as gay back then you'd loseyour career and had a good chance of being killed. Generally "Bisexual," in the straight world back then was understood to mean "Straight who swings occassionaly." Every rockerof the 70s was "swinging back then but Freddie was eventually considered to be Gay. Watch Queens performance at Live Aid, its amazing. Unfortunately Freddie died of AIDS at the age of 46. Queen still plays and tours with Adam Lambert in Freddie's position.

The song is about a girl that want to get out, dance, get drunk, party everyday, buying bottles of alcohol daily, and her husband don't know what to do, but the song is from the point of view from one of the spectators watching what's going on.
