The length of this video reminds me of this "Obviously the environment down here is all salt. The ceiling is salt, the floor is salt, the walls are salt, and to an extent, the air is salt, You breathe that in, and vou can constantly taste the salt." That being said. The biggest triumph of this game is that it actually portrays the Imperium (and basically all 40k factions) as the horrible entity that it is. As opposed to say Space Marine 2 where the Imperium is cast as the good guys event though they are essentially catholic space nazis with all the rhetoric and over the top evil that flies above the heads of some

Two complaints, Caligos /is/ chaos tainted, his right hand man is a bloodthirster in disguise and you can discover this and confront him about it. Second, the reason Heironymus fights you is because his initial stance is that what Chorda is doing is just and good, you then convince him she's fucking insane and wrong, you then talk her down and show him that she's actually not corrupted or a monster but just a struggling person doing what they believe is best, showing him that she could be still be saved despite all she had done so what she had done wasn't actually chaos-influenced and that she /was/ acting within the Emperor's bounds

As much as you probably shouldn't be saved from the drukhari, I think its entirely within the lore for a harlequin to be the one to save you. Almost all Eldar will stop what they're doing when the harlequins are involved, on top of that, there are loads of books and stories that include harlequins and Eldar working with the humans to save them from X situation. Im over 80 books into warhammer 40k, half of which are heresy era, half are "modern" 40k, and it feels very believable from my understanding of the lore.

One thing you might have missed about Cassia is that the book she is reading when you meet her on the ship in the library for the first or second time, is basically a "How Nobles of the Imperium court" which she leaves on the table, yes the Devs put in a "How to romance this NPC" in the game, and have her leave it for the player. Also any reason you skipped picking up the companion Jaye in act 1? You can romance her and when you take her to bed she leaves the intercom on so everyone can hear you bang. No this does not have an impact on any other romance options. Oh and the DLC throws on a cool set of side missions and a mission that's like ME3's invite X crewmember up to your apartment except it's to the Rogue Trader's bath and I laughed pretty much each time. Do the Argenta first, trust me.

I like Rogue Trader because it actually gives attention to a lot of aspects of the setting that most visible 40k media ignores. Like, "no, you won't even die gloriously fighting humanity's enemies, you'll probably just get accidentally spaced from the bowels of a city-sized starship."

I just finished my first playthrough of this and I was completely blown away. Im new to Warhammer and knew nothing before Space Marine II came out. Rouge Trader is really what suck me in it one of the best RPGs I've ever played.

5:32:09 Dysjunction is not a schism, its a literal warp rift inside Commoragh. DEldar have some way to deal with them, but its costly and scares the shit out of them for obvious reasons.

I 100% agree with you on the remark made at 3:43:00, Rogue Trader's combat is not fun, nor is it fun to spend literal hours in combat so often after going through treks of combat already. It's much better and more fun to talk it out, read, do anything, literally anything other than the combat. I personally had to put the game down halfway into Act 1 because I spent like, a 4 hour session with half of it being induced with combat and was just sick of it. If Rogue Trader has any glaring flaw, it's that the amount of enemies you're forced to fight is beyond ridiculous and I wish it'd have been toned down by at least half, if not more.

LOL, my man managed to pick the one romance that's a shy courtly affair of forbidden love with a girl whose entire understand of relationships comes from noble courtship instruction books. Could have waited for the dlc and had the cultist who devotes her body and soul to you, could have tried the mischievous scoundrel he didn't even bother to add as a companion, could have gone full bdsm with the dark elf. Instead chose literally the most vanilla option available just by stumbling luck 😂

People have likely already pointed this out but at 3:16:00 you state that the ''Drukhari Weapons" acted as a spoiler, but in the talents tree you can gain proficiency in Aeldari and Drukhari weaponry. (Though you didn't get Jae who first reveals this I believe, hence the delay in noticing)

Your complaints about the cult of the final dawn are a bit misguided. The entire point of the cult is a manufactured anti establishment anti tyranny cult. Created by the word bearers. Its been created to draw in the midwit peasants that want to fight for freedom, to then corrupt them into servants of chaos. Further, as you see in 40k and even the game itself. Chaos will intentionally corrupt leadership positions, to make them abuse the peasantry to encite rebellion that is subverted by chaos. This is how entire systems become the newest expansion of super hell. Chaos operates on levels the CIA wish they could.

5:29:19 those aren't really anternatives of your current guy. They're essentially what-ifs. What if your guy wasn't iconoclast, but fully dogmatic/heretical. The self obsessed one is representing a rogue trader that didn't get into any of the 3 paths

I played like 3 times from start to finish and never took Argenta with me to act 3. This is the first time I get to hear that she's the one who killed Theodora. That's so funny actually 😭
@theghostoftom
@theghostoftom 13 сағат бұрын
Yep, her actions in the prologue make so much more sense once you know. That's why she knows the Theodora in the flames is a warp thing, why she's more bothered about Mort's body and why she is very worried about your "tainted blood".

Ngl Garrus's "I had reach, she had flexibility" dialogue is one of my favorites in possibly the whole series. Just from a writing perspective. It gets away with sounding cinematic, character building, poetic, and acting as natural sounding conversation speech. The delivery is smooth af and the repetition of that line "I had reach, she had flexibility" just locks in this sort of poetry about it that you really do not see in media

As a person who started the game multuiple times and only finished Heretical playthrough I can say that Marazhai was NOT tailored for the hereticals. I strolled through the game feeling entitled, sowing chaos selling my soul and others in my realm for the chaos power, but then this dude comes up to me and goes hey wanna try bdsm? Yeah so the very next quest when you go out on your ship when he's being manipulated by chaos I just gave his soul to chaos entity. Not going to lie it was satisfying af.

Also Edge of daybreak can technically become a sword if you go full Heretical, but, sword is meh so I let him live. Also never saw him again from there. Also fun note, for full Dogmatic people you get Chorda, yes that Incendia Chorda, as a party member in the ch5, while full hereticals get Uralon. Heretics almost need him since a lot of dogmatic companions leave before ch5 since you're oh so naughty.

Meh. I take it as the same choice as Foulstone. Yes you can get rid of both early for a pile of points and early rewards, but keeping them both opens up some devious story and rewards later on. Plus having the tentacled pain engine as a pet hanging around your bedroom definitely sets a tone.

A bit late and I don't know if anyone said something similar, but I think that the Quarian historian having a biased view on the Geth creation/revolt tracks, especially considering the time period the conversation would have happened. Of course they won't see themselves as the aggressors, and of course history would be changed to view it that way, especially before the reconciliation happened in 3
