I'm a bike snob. For a long time and 10's of thousands of miles, I rode an old steel framed Specialized Hard Rock. I modified it quite a bit and used it as a commuter bike. It was nothing special, but it worked perfectly. 26" wheels, which I built, Shimano triple crank, the best square taper bottom bracket, Ergon grips, WTB seat... I rode the shit out of that bike! That was in south Florida and later Michigan. I'm now in Ecuador and my neighbor wants to sell me his Trek 7. It's a much better bike than what I'm used to. Ecuador has been good to me. I love it here. I guess I'm going to buy it.😊

I don't see why this couldn't be your wife's forever guitar because for many people, a Seagull S6 IS their forever guitar and that guitar is pretty much identical to the S&P Songsmith and Woodland series. I myself actually just bought a Songsmith dreadnought TODAY and I was lucky enough to get one in that stunning Faded Denim Blue colour motif (Model #046607). It's not really named correctly because it's a deep and solid blue. It doesn't look faded like one of the Denim Blue Songsmiths that Godin makes today. Of course, like any Godin guitar, it's absolutely FLAWLESS because Godin has probably THE BEST quality-control in the entire industry. You wouldn't be paying a mere $400 premium for a Martin or a Taylor, you'd be paying about DOUBLE to get a Martin or Taylor that plays as well as a Godin Canadian-made dreadnought. I have a couple of coworkers who are more experienced players than I am. The first one owns a Takamine cutaway and had never heard of any of the Godin brands. I was shocked by this because we're Canadians. I let him play it so he could see what Godin quality is like. He was blown away by it, saying that it's hands-down the best acoustic that he has ever played. My other coworker is a real guitar veteran and is easily the best guitarist at my work so I just let him go nuts with it. He was finally able to put it down after more than an hour with it. He said he had to admit that it felt much better to play than his ~$1,300 MIM Taylor dreadnought. I was kinda surprised by this because he once told me that his daughter plays a Seagull but maybe it's a CH or parlour-size. This all happened today, January 11, 2025 and I'm still in a daze about the whole thing. I bought it used (in pristine condition) with its original S&P gig-bag for only $350. I'm sure that the rare colour scheme will make it hold its value in the long-term, not that I ever want to sell it.

Do you still thinking about rs4 b7? I love in rs5 everything except the gear box. That's why I thinking more about b7 rs4 but dam can't get eyes off rs5. why not manual, why.... so shame. it's so hard choice between. I love manuals very. I just love 3 pedals. I want manual badly. but want rs5 more than rs4 b7. so diffucult... why audi with us like this. a5 b8 had both options. s5 had manual. :////

Love the video. Just like you said. Its the dumbest smartest purchase I`ve ever made. I got a `24 RS3 in April of last year and feel myself super connected to your video. Enjoyed the car as it came for a few months but eventually started the mod process. Car brings a smile to my face whenever I drive it. As a matter of fact. I`m about to go for a drive. Since this video is 2 years old I hope your RS3 has served you well and is still your fav car.

First of all, this 4.6 32 valve is from the Lincoln Mark viii. 93-98. The cobra wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the mark viii. 2. They were not pushing 460 hp. They were pushing 420 max. Ford said 390 hp. 3. He also mentioned ford had horrible interior. Then he mentioned, domestic cars had terrible interior in the early 2000s. I would look at the Lincoln interiors in those comparable years. They also put these motors in the marauder/continental FWD/ and of course the awesome AVIATOR.

The thing is that the RF lens is 400g lighter. Add the adapter and you'll have an even bigger weight difference. Now, is that worth the extra cash? Probably not, but that's still relevant anyway.

Wow. Thank you so much for this video. It’s uncanny how your thought process has mirrored mine (or rather it’s very similar). Reading how you came to your decision gives me confidence that my thinking is sound. Note: For those who don’t want to read my long-winded thoughts, just jump to the last paragraph. 7 years ago I could financially afford and justify a weekend toy. It came down to a choice of one of 3 cars that were all German V8 sedans from my favourite period of 2006-2012: the BMW E90 M3, Audi B7 RS4 and the C63 AMG. I read many, many tests and agonised over my decision for a long time. It was easy to eliminate the C63 because I wanted a manual transmission. Then after many test drives of RS4s and M3s I decided on the M3 because it was the more rewarding and engaging drive. It was so willing to change direction with an amazingly well-connected front end … even if the exterior looks and interior ergonomics fell short of the Audi. I haven’t regretted my decision and the M3 has provided lots of driving pleasure. However, fast forward a few years and I wanted to keep the M3 and buy a new daily drive. I’m still in love with the B7 RS4 and there are still quite a few available on the used market here in Australia. However my regular driving takes place in a congested city with heavy traffic sometimes requiring lots of stop/start driving. So I really needed an auto or DCT. With the RS4 only available in a manual, I started to consider a B7 S4. Sure it wasn’t all that powerful, but the power was adequate for around town. The size is just right and the dashboard is arguably one of the best deigns ever. I actually found a S4 in a great Imola Yellow colour with very low km and in mint condition. However I took too long to decide and someone else bought the car. That car was ‘the one that got away’ and it took me ages to get over that. Over time I came to the conclusion that it’s unlikely I’ll ever find my dream S4 as only 72 B7s were ever imported into Australia. Quite likely none of these were in my favourite Sprint Blue. I looked into importing a B7 S4 from Japan or the UK, but Australian Government import regulations currently prohibit that. So I test drove some other options. I’m a BMW fan but I rejected a F87 M2 competition pack after a test drive that left me underwhelmed. The salesman couldn’t believe it when I came back from a test drive and expressed my disappointment that it wasn’t more powerful! Then I drove a 2014 B8.5 RS5 and thought “Hey, this is OK. I don’t want to get out!”. I loved the acceleration and the bi-modal exhaust note even if I’m not all that fond of a 2 door coupe or a panorama roof. The steering ratio is acceptably direct even if the feel is not great due to electric steering. I remembered that Enzo Ferrari was quoted as saying “I don’t sell cars; I sell engines. The cars I throw in for free since something has to hold the engines in.” I thought that philosophy could apply to the magnificent Audi 4.2L V8. So I bought the engine and the RS5 body came with it! The one I bought is not the cleanest example. It’s had 4 previous owners in 3 different States and not much has been spent on maintenance in recent years. So it’s almost a bit a project car that’s currently consuming a vast amount of money. However, when it’s restored to its former glory, it will be the most stunning RS5 around in a special order bright blue colour. I can’t wait to start driving it.

Thank you for the feedback, and thank you for sharing your buying journey. The RS5 definitely has this collection of great qualities that is difficult to find in anything else. Sounds like you chose a RS5 in the gorgeous sepang blue, I've seen a couple in person, reminds me a lot of the sprint blue B7 RS4. Best of luck with the restoration and thanks for watching! 👍

@@WhyBuy Thanks for your reply. It's much appreciated. The colour is not Sepang Blue which only really lights up in direct sunlight. Mine is not a standard colour and was possibly a special order from the factory. The paint code is N5V which my research indicates might be Pasadena Blue, a very bright mid blue.

I chose to go with the rf version to save myself on extra stuff to carry. I mainly shoot on my red v raptor and my carry case is usually full. So just the convenience of the rf lens works for me. But the quality is very close and if I shot on any other system I’d save the grand. Great video!

Hard to say without any details on the vehicle maintenance or condition. Finding an RS5 with 20K km's is a great find but always check service records, get it third party inspected, and while the price tag is a little high, unfortunately its a scarce market for low km's RS5's so... maybe it's worth it to get more life from the car? Tough, but if you intended to keep it, take care of it, and enjoy it, I can't say how valuable it is to be able to get one of these cars in new or low km condition. Best of luck 👍

Yeah, not the best way to test them. The preamp in the camera isn't ideal to show the competency, especially on the MKE600. We would have preferred to run the mic with an XLR output and adjust the gain and ceiling through an independant recorder but instead this was more of a "run and gun" scenario. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching 👍

Great question, the sportz link might have a bit different seal to attach, not 100% if there is enough material to use the SUV version with the Truck tent. We didn't try it unfortunately so I don't want to say based on speculation. Honestly, Napier is a great group, I'm sure if you sent a quick email they'd confirm. Maybe it only requires that fabric connector piece to make it work? If you find out, we'd be grateful for an update here! Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for watching! 👍

I really don't understand the modern obsession with audis, they're all so unremarkable. Park any one of them in a car park at a shopping centre and they'll just melt into the sea of other generic looking modern appliance vehicles. Quick but my '99 bike is still faster, they're very very sterile experience to drive. I'm assuming that there's a sleeper aspect of it whereby it's still much faster than it looks so could catch people off guard? I'd want something that was exciting or different or stands out somehow if I was spending that kinda money on a car. Reasons that I understand for car people to buy a car: -Exciting to drive (car hear and feel stuff happen) -Exciting to look at -Unusual / rare -Good price-performance (or cheap in general) -Easy to work on Audi's are none of those 🤷‍♂ what's the draw? Comfort and looking like everyone else?
